Not sure about the smoking issues, but if you hurt your back you could be
retaining water from the injury trying to heal itself and also if you are
taking pain/anti inflammatory they will cause you to hold water, don't
stress until your back has been healed for a week or so, then reevaluate and
use this time to remember that not gaining is a way of reducing the total
you "MIGHT" have had to lose, best of luck and I hope you are better soon,

This is my 2nd week where I have stuck. Neither gone up or down. I haven't
been able to exercise as I would like due to a back injury, and

consequently
I tried to cut my intake down. I never used to eat my exercise points
anyway, well not all of them.

It's most frustrating when I am trying hard, I am drinking water, and feel
hungry most of the time since I stopped smoking. Could stopping smoking

have
something to do with sticking. I was told your metabolism slows down, is
this true ?????

Might be a good idea to post in here exactly what you have been
putting into your mouth these past few days, if you can remember LOL,
and how many points you have been allocatomg to each item and how
many points you have been eating per day?

I have my journals at home. I complete them up to mid day in the morning,
and then for the rest of the day after my evening meal.

A typical day starts

B/Fast Cerial 1.5
Milk 2 (daily allowance)
Banana 1.5

Lunch Sandwich (consisting of)
2 slices Bread and Spread (WW)
Filling Salmon, or Crab, or Low Fat Cheese
Slice 4.5 or 5.5 Points depending

Snack Fruit. Either Pear, Apple or Melon/Grapes
1.5

Dinner Either a WW Meal 4.5 points 5.5 points
or
Chicken Breast (no skin) 4.5 Points
Salad with WW Salad Cream 1 Point
Coleslaw (low fat) 1 Point
WW Desert 1.5 to 2.5 Points

I am allowed 20 points a day. If I have used my points I do without WW
desert. However if I swim or walk earning points I usually use about half
earned.

I have "cheated" twice this last fortnight Once with a bag of Chocolate
Buttons (which I did not count) and Once with 4 Pints of Beer on Sunday
(which I did not count)

This is a true statement lol honest

Couple of suggestions:
-vary your meals every day-having the same breakfast/lunch/dinner day after
day can cause a plateau. Your body gets used the same things and knows what
is coming next. Tends to put your body into starvation mode and you actually
can gain.

-vary your points every day-our leader suggests eating the minimum a couple
of days a week and using a couple of flex points the other days. Go up/down
each day in points helps keep the metabolism guessing.

-don't eat below your 20 points due to the lack of exercise. There are
plenty of folks that have lost lots of weight without doing any formal
exercise.

-add more veggies at lunch to help fill you up.

I was told by an experienced nurse that stopping smoking DOES make you gain
weight for physical reason as well as because you tend to eat more... so it
could make a difference I stopped smoking a week before I joined WW and
during that week I gained 10 lbs !!!!!!!!!

The problem with this world is stupidity, now I'm not saying there should
be capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the
safety labels off everything and let the problem solve itself?

May be some low point veg sticks to nibble on, it will keep your hands
and mouth busy for a while. Don't fret about the numbers sometimes
our bodies stay the same for a while, I think it is an adjustment
time.

I am taking Ibruffen 400gms 3 times a day (sometimes twice) I hope it is the
tablets. I might try doing without them

It's not the tablets. Don't stop taking them if they are working.
