Hello everyone,

I have been lurking more than posting lately. Things are busy around here.
Congrats to those who have lost this week, those who are frustrated - hang
in there! To those who are departing on well-deserved vacations, have a
great time!

I leave in a few days for a major volleyball tournament out-of-town (referee
not player). Ways I plan to be OP while on my trip are to bring packets of
instant oatmeal, protein shakes (vanilla ones that mix well with diet coke),
a large bag of apples and grapefruit, and some microwave popcorn. I won't
have a fridge or micro but might have access to a micro somewhere at the
hotel. The arena won't allow outside food and I won't eat concession crap
hence the shakes which are easily smuggled. I'll also be doing some "fine
dining" while there but I'll make reasonable choices and limit portions.

I'll have my pedometer and plan to do lots of walking like I usually do when
I travel. I'm also packing my yoga mat to work on some routines for my new
NSV. The gym I use has morning yoga classes but no evening ones. I've been
telling the new owner for a while now that there should be an evening one
for people who have to work during the day. Today I was at the morning
class and afterward he pulled me aside and asked if I would be interested in
teaching an evening yoga class starting this fall!

For most of my life I could never really picture being active let alone
athletic. The last 3 years of no longer being over 300 lbs. has helped me
become the athlete I wanted to be. This is just the jewel in that crown,
that someone actually would consider having me lead a physical activity like
yoga.

I don't know if I'll even be lurking while gone so if you don't hear from
me, have a wonderful week and 4th of July holiday.

That is so awesome to actually teach the yoga class. You must be very
good. A friend, who's a manicurist, began taking yoga lessons at a
studio after her divorce. She had no idea that a few years later the
studio owner would actually give her the entire business and now she is
teaching classes when she is not doing nails.

I hadn't really thought about myself as "good" at yoga. What I am familiar
with is the modifications necessary for many different poses using straps
and blocks or to compensate for injuries. I've been doing yoga for a number
of years, even pre-weight loss and actually credit it with motivating me to
lose the weight once and for all.
