Personally, I'm not quite sure how I feel about this...but I'm a rail
sitter on most topics anyway.

I know some of you have struggled with eating disorders and many of us
have body image issues--will a ban on waif-models help? In my opinion,
not until the rest of the media and style industries follow suit.

I don't think the ban will help. What would be super refreshing to me
though is to see some "real" looking women with more typical proportions
modelling. Like, a size 10 or something...


They did that with those ads for Dove products - using "real" women. I
remember reading male columnists referring to the models as cows. It's
pretty sad when our culture's vision of ideal beauty is created by men who
like boys instead of women.
