Default Cycling has it's rewards

I missed the cycling club's banquet last weekend as I was in Florida
watching my nephew's high school wrestling team capture their 4th straight
state championship. I received an email today from the cycling club saying
they were sorry I wasn't able to attend the banquet and my "Rookie of the
Year" award would be mailed to me. I'm not new to cycling but this is my
first year with the club. It was a good year, too.

Beverly - waiting for good weather so I can get back to outdoor cycling.
The indoor trainer isn't much fun!

Excellent!

Hope the weather improves soon. Ours turned the corner today -- got
up in the 50s, and much of the ice has melted. Of course, now we're
having flooding!

Most of the schools in the area where closed today due to heavy fog. It
didn't burn off until almost noon. It was a nightmare driving to work this
morning. You could barely see the car ahead of you.

Friday is looking much better. It's supposed to be in the high 30's with
sunshine. I'm hoping to get out and do some riding.

We're getting rain that is washing away the little, useless snow we had (not
enough for snowshoeing or XC skiing but enough to make the roads not fun for
running). Tuesday we went out on one of the lakes with the dog and did a
lot of running around under the guise of ice fishing. Mostly I just jogged
from tip-up to tip-up in a circuit playing chase with the dog. This weekend
it's going to snow. Next weekend I'm taking some kids skiing. It's just NICE
to get back outside!

I loved the pictures, Neil. Your visible yellow jersey is a great choice
for cycling and it's also my favorite.

I do have a Carmichael Training DVD for climbing that makes the trainer a
little more fun but it's tough and I haven't been able to keep up through
the entire video YET. Looks like your biking is going well.
