What's the nicest thing people have said to your about your weight loss?

Maybe we should put some of these up on our refrigerators, but what is are some of the nicest things that people have said to you about your weight loss? At Fat Cyclist, I posted a thank you to the people in the Banjo Brothers Big Bad Bulky Biker Bodyfat Challenge.for "letting me draft here." One of the regulars told me I was "taking as many pulls as anybody." If I had a dime for every time someone called me "inspirational".... My favorite one, though, is from my gym. One of the regular gym rats, a cop who power-lifts, in conversation told me that a lot of the usual weight room crowd give me a lot of respect for my accomplishment and how far I've come. In retrospect, I don't know if it's because of the weight or because of my increasingly obvious structural problems. But I'll take the compliment anyway. Neil 385/252/200 |

"Nunya B." wrote in message ... "teachrmama" wrote in message ... I've had a number of compliments since I have lost so much weight, but the one that stroked my ego the most was when someone said "You are getting too thin!" I'm not, of course--it's just that it is easier to disguise my "problem areas" not that I don't have so many of them grin I had a great compliment yesterday from someone I haven't seen since I first took off the weight. She said that I still look like I'm going strong and that she was thrilled to see I had kept off so much weight. We used to work out at Curves together and reminisced about the know-it-alls who were so sure I was not going to be able to be successful in the long run. It does feel wonderful to have people you haven't seen in a while do a double take when they see you. smile I work out at Curves. My daughters take karate 2 doors away, so it's convenient, and a nice workout. Sometimes I go around more than twice, if I feel like I need a bit more of a workout. I'm glad you've maintained your weight loss in spite of the nay-sayers. I'm sure there are a few of those in my life, too, but I prefer to stay positive and communicate only with positive people. Keep up the good work! |
