My Test Results are in!
Monday morning, I went to LabCorps to have my blood and urine tests
done. They sent me the results by email yesterday afternoon. I have been on LC since September. HDL Cholesterol 54 LDL Cholesterol 94 Triglycerides 73 Hemoglobin A1c 4.9 There are 4 pages of test results, but I chose the ones I thought the group might be interested in. So, how am I doing, health wise? Becca |

My serum glucose was 79 and my A1c was 4.9 Thyroid: TSH 4.538 Thyroxine (T4) 7.3 T3 Uptake 28 Free thyroxine index 2.0 To get more information about my test results, I look he http://www.labtestsonline.org/ I find the test, then I click on the words "The Test". BTW, if any of your test results are high or low, the test will make that indication and it is highlighted. My white blood cell count was high, but I have a sinus infection, so there ya go. lol What did the lab charge? $89. http://directlabs.com/ For the past couple of years, I have used DirectLabs and I choose whatever tests I need. I pay for the tests, print out the orders and I take it to LabCorps. They send me the results by email, in a day or two. I fast before the tests, so I usually go early in the morning. I had July's "test of the month", which was $89 for blood and urine. If you scroll to the bottom of the page you will find it. Becca |

(I'm not sure what the upper edge of my lab's range is 4.2 or 4.7, but my doctor prefers me to have it less than 1, and prescribes thyroid supplementation accordingly.) -- "[xxx] has very definite opinions, and does not suffer fools lightly. According to my test results, the Reference Intervals a TSH 0.350 - 5.500 T4 4.5 - 12.0 I have thyroid lab reports going back almost 10 years (it's not all the tests that were run; I lost some of the printouts). Until 2002 or so, the Reference Intervals above were on all the reports. The 4.5-12.0 is still what I see for T4. However, the current Interval for TSH is 0.27-4.20. One of the missing reports had an alert to this effect, so that doctors would start treatment at lower levels. I just googled for TSH reference range, and found this article http://thyroid.about.com/cs/testsfor...a/newrange.htm indicating that the change did in fact take place in 2002. -- "[xxx] has very definite opinions, and does not suffer fools lightly. My Test Results are in!
"Becca" wrote in My low carb WOE is not much different than I was eating before. I am eating more vegetables, both raw and cooked, without eating the pasta, rice, potatoes, bread. I love bread, used to eat about 6 to 8 slices a day, whole wheat of course! I eat 4 a day now, about 12 carbs each, seems to work well. |

Bread, I love, but what I miss the most on my WOE, is beans and fruit. I still have a few pounds to lose, so I am trying to behave. Becca |
