I've been following from ALC lately instead of LCF. I have to laugh -- I was censored at LCF because I said I wouldn't buy a diet book written by a woman who still weighed 300 pounds. I guess if I had gotten a posse together to say that, it would have been okay? LOL! IMO, LCF has WAY too much censorship - and as you noted, it's not done in a fair and impartial manner. It's also fun to watch people who can't spell their way out of a paper bag comment on the spelling and grammatical errors at the KK site -- it's priceless, really. The "good guys" have a pretty high standard for "Kimmer" and anyone else associated with the KK site -- they just don't seem to think those standards need to be applied to anyone else, including themselves. Some of the arguments against Kimmer are much stupider than Kimmer herself is; some are good arguments though. It's a mixed bag. But as far as the Russian Bride pics for the befores/afters and that "Kimmer" seems to be morbidly obese (and never lost the weight in the first place) -- those things seem to be confirmed by multiple sources. And, for the record, I think "Kimmer" isn't too bright -- all of this uproar could have been avoided early on, and rather than engage in some serious damage control, she seems hell bent on making the problem worse with every decision she makes. There does seem to be a "just drink the Kool-Aide" mentality over at good ol' KK -- but I'm also wondering what flavor they're serving at LCF these days. The problem with web forums is how good they are depends on who's running them. Hi, Jackie!

Active Low-Carber Forum. Higher level of intelligence with it's posters also. Lower traffic so you don't have to read 100 posts every time there's a break in the case. I've been following from ALC lately instead of LCF. I'll check that out -- I wondered if you were still watching LCF. I admit I don't read every single post -- too much of it is just noise and back-patting each other on how cute and wonderful they are. I actually did post over there the other day. Some of the responses I got were well considered and I would have like to continue the conversation. But I would have had to wade through so much crap to find the ones worth answering, I just gave up. A couple of people said things that were just plain stupid, and when I said I wouldn't be bothered I got the expected, "Oooo! We must have hit a nerve! Quack! Quack!" *sigh* As I anticipated, someone even asked if I might be "Kimmer" -- I hope they were kidding because that was too stupid for words. I agree it's too much, and that's bad enough. To have it be so hit and miss just makes it worse. One of the admins is actively participating in the "Kimmer" thread(s) now. I can certainly understand that they wanted to create a safe place for "fatties" -- and I get that. But when you look at some of the remarks about "Kimmer's" weight, or Tippy's spelling, or Dr. Mark's "trailer park" you can see that all the "love" they think they've got going over there is only an implied insult away. I'm actually pretty happy I never made any "friends" over there -- they're like a pack of wild dogs and won't quit until there's nothing left -- except maybe bleached bones. Yes -- I agree with you on this one. And you certainly can't tell anyone with a stupid argument that it *is* a stupid argument. It's a mixed bag, a good web forum avoids the spam and trolls of Usenet, but the bad ones take censorship to silly levels and make you long for the spam and trolls in comparison. I much prefer newsgroups to web forums for that very reason. I had quite an interesting exchange with an LCF admin last year trying to find out where that tricky little line was. They concluded the conversation by telling me that asking them about policy wasn't allowed. So I guess you just have to step in it before you can find out where the line is. The "Kimmer" thread peeps know that, too. I don't know if you noticed or not all the bowing and scraping that went on in the first thread because the admins *didn't* shut it down. They decided then they were on the side of right in a justified crusade and it was off to the races. Well, I'm rambling on and on. Maybe I'd fit right in over there after all. ;-) -- BlueBrooke 254/225/135 |

And that's a wig in those pics; the PI says she's bald. Her ex-husband and her son's ex-girlfriend were both tracked down also. They verify that's her. A blogger who interviewed Kimmer when she was still anonymous called, he later called Heidi's house and got her voice on tape; plus a local TV reporter ambushed her and she said "no comment". The voices all match. That is definetly her. Ok...I just wanted to know because the last time you mentioned this -- I believe just as it was breaking -- it didn't seem confirmed. They trained for three hours a day, six days a week, usually in the garage of the actress' Santa Monica home. Hamilton also shed 12 pounds on a nonfat diet that revolved around cereal with skim milk, chicken, and dry salads. The regimen continued throughout the grueling six-month shoot. Her drills included aerobic exercise (running, biking, swimming, or stair-climbing) followed by free weights interspersed with mini-trampoline work-and, for dessert, walking lunges or an abdominal series.'' From what I can tell, most of the people posting at ALC are from LCF? I guess it really is a small world. :-D -- BlueBrooke 254/225/135 |

Can't help you there, sorry! Someone (don't remember who) posted that, though she still weighed 300 pounds, she'd been doing LC for long enough, and knew enough about it, that she could write a book about it -- and was actually considering doing that. I wasn't the only one who thought she was full of it -- the whole thread was pulled. It also wasn't the only thing I commented on, but I have to admit I think about it a lot every time I see a message posted at LCF about Heidi's weight. It's also fun to watch people who can't spell their way out of a paper bag comment on the spelling and grammatical errors at the KK site -- it's priceless, really. Well, did all those people pay $59? If so, perhaps they feel they are entitled to post whatever crap they feel necessary to get their money's worth. Apparently not. I guess the original fee was about $15 when the KK site started last year, and it's gone up from time to time to an all-time high of $60 just before the WW article came out. *That* is supposedly where she made all her money -- from the subscriptions generated by that magazine article. When they say she's taken in $2 million, that's just from figuring 40,000 new members times $60. As far as I know, there isn't any real confirmation about how much money she's made, other than someone mentioning that she had $1 million in a PayPal account. It's more speculation. But as far as the Russian Bride pics for the befores/afters and that "Kimmer" seems to be morbidly obese (and never lost the weight in the first place) -- those things seem to be confirmed by multiple sources. Yeah, with a decent newsreader you can do your own censorship.
