Default Food sugestion for camping trip

I leave Sat morning on my 8 day camping trip. I am looking for any
quick and easy food ideas. Sans fish, (its doesn't keep well out in the
woods). I will probably be looking to pre-prepare as much as I can.

This also means I won't be gracing the group with my quick wit and
ready charm for those eight days. :-)

we will miss you but hope you have an excellent time, if you can take fresh
fruit or canned things that is the way I would go, also ff bologna, canned
chicken and ff cheese, I am at a bit of a loss but I take a cooler with me
most places I sometimes get watermelon and wait to cut it until I am where I
am going to stay then keep it in the cooler, salsa is another option, baked
potatoes in the campfire would be nice, and maybe corn on the cob in the
fire? Lee

Will you be bringing a microwave on the camping trip?

I'm more into the 5 star hotels as well but if you cook, I would suggest
a turkey or black bean chili. Bring some 1 point tortillas along too.
If you are taking snacks like pretzels weigh or measure first and bag
according to servings rather than taking big bags. Does anyone know the
points for beef jerky? It takes a long time to chew. Bring prepared
vegetables and dips for the first few days and fruit that will stay.
Cook chicken breasts in advance and cut into strips for sandwiches.

Besides can foods, fruit and vegetables, why not you bring noodles. I
think in Chinese grocery store you can find noodles cup. That is very
handy food. Enjoy your camping...

Christmas dinner! Stuff and freeze a chook before you go, cook it in
the preesure cooker there. The bird will keep the milk cold in the cool
box for most of the weekend, and it makes and easy Sunday dinner. I
speak as one who has done this...

WW Taco Bean Soup
1 cup = 2 poiints

1lb.ground beef cooked with 1 cup chopped onion (you could make in
advance)
two 14 1/2 oz cans crushed tomatoes with green chilis
one can crushed tomatoes
one can yellow corn drained
two cans black beans
1 cup water
1 package Hidden Valley ranch dressing mix
one package taco seasoning mix

Combine the ingredients to the browned meat and onion mixture. I never
add the Hidden Valley because I just don't add it on hand. More water
can be added too.

Bring fresh vegetables that don't go bad fast, carrots, potatoes etc.. corn
on the cob over the fire sounds good...

Also go through the canned food aisle and read labels.. there's some low fat
chili that could be a good quick option.

All the low fat canned soup (I like progresso and some chunky soups)

If you're at a camping ground with electricity, there are some good cheap
coolers you can plug in, then you can bring anything.. if not... cans are
your friends...

Canned chicken... canned tuna.... canned everything.. .;o)

If you're in bear country, hide and lock away your foods!!!

Don't forget lots of water!
