OK, what is Core??

There are so many good whole grain versions of food out there
now...even Lean Pockets.

Oh, ghod, they rock. I make food orgasm noises eating those.

Another really good--and fast--thing is the South Beach Diet Wrap lunch
packs, the entire pack is under 300 calories, you get stuff to make two
wraps, plus a cute little tub of jello. My store had them on sale last week,
2/$5, I filled the bottom of my fridge.

I like the SBD breakfast wraps. Fast, easy, and consumable on the way to
work. One wrap fills me up all morning.

I know lots of people who do great on it, the theory is nothing process or
junk high carb, non processed and good carbs, you can incorporate that
concept and still count calories, Lee

I was so careful yesterday - but still the scale showed a 0.4 kg
weight GAIN since yesterday. Very strange! I'm up to 83.8 kg now!

I feel like there must be something going on in my food balance or
choices that is causing this.

Or that my body's metabolism has suddenly slowed down to a crawl...

That could be something to do with it... Try giving the body a jolt: a
week of being totally careful and weighing everything, and then have a
week on maintenance... Or switch to Core for a wee or two.

Do people have a lot of luck on Core? When I tried it I found myself
naturally gravitating towards all the highest calorie Core items, like
pumpkin, corn, avocados and things I generally don't eat when
journaling all the calories.

Thanks again for your responses, people. I do notice, in general, that
the more I stick with non-processed foods the more I tend to lose.

Anyway, I don't know if I am psychologically ready to stop journaling
after all this time, so I'll hold off on trying Core for the time
being. I'm concentrating on just being really, really, really careful
in not underestimating the number of calories I'm eating and not
overestimating exercise calories.

This morning my weight was 0.8 kg LESS than yesterday, back down to
exactly 83.0, so maybe I'm under control now. We'll see!

the other thing to consider is that if you are actually at a maintenance
level there is a five pound swing, somebody correct if wrong, that you
should stay in if you are doing it all the same, Lee, wondering about your
measurements,

Doug, your body is constantly adjusting so if you are back down perhaps
you should continue journaling and not change much in regard to how you
are eating.

Even more reason to eliminate the processed foods from your diet. This is
something that I need to do myself as the 2pt bars have crept back into my
diet.

There is nothing that says that you if you do core that you have to stop
journalling if that's what keeps you on track. You also could eat like you
are on core but still journal, weigh & measure like you have been doing.

That's a good sign. Hang in there. You will figure this out.

I'm still above normal weight, so this should not be maintenance level
for me. In fact, now that I am at 83 instead of my recent low of 79 kg
I really am about 20 lb overweight.

My height is 174 cm.
