Wilson For me it means taking 24 to 48 hours and eating regular food, then I start right back up with LC. why isn't low carb food regular food? i don't think there's anything irregular about it. i'm not trying to argue with you, Laura. i'm curious to know what your rationale is. Regular food to me is any food I can just eat without having to do mental calculations to determine the content thereof. ah. that's interesting, and makes a certain kind of sense. i rather like it. |

Planned Cheat?

... Crafting Mom wrote: It's not something I schedule either. I just want to live the lifestyle I am going to live for the rest of my life. Agreed. The scheduling bit is important to me. That it is planned in advance is how I know it's an intentional choice rather than just getting "carried away". I feel in control about it. I used the term planned cheat for a reason, and it looks like it is the same reason Jackie is talking about. It is planned. It is scheduled. I think about it in advance and decide how I will handle it. I did eat the flourless chocolate cake on my birthday. I didn't eat the weird white thing that was on the plate with it. Don't have a clue as to what it was supposed to be. I've done a couple of other meals like that too. It is important to me to both plan what I am going to do, and also acknowledge that it is a "cheat" although the word "off-plan" works for me too. Then when it is over I can just get back on the Beach and carry on. I agree that the idea that you have to go back to Phase I (or Induction if you are doing Atkins) just because you were off-plan for one meal is nuts. The cravings don't come back that fast for most of us. |
