Default One a Day, for low carbers

I picked up the One a Day vitamin for low carbers. Anyone else try it?
I like it because I don't have to take a bunch of vitamins now. I was taking a
multi-vitamin, 2 magnesiums, 2 postasiums. Them pills were so huge to swallow
too. The One a Day vitamins are big, but is only 1 tablet a day.

Default One a Day, for low carbers

I've seen several people post who state that they take potassium
supplements. I am curious - were these prescribed by doctors? I asked my
doctor about it, and she showed great concern. She wants me to have a
blood test before taking potassium. Both she and the pharmacist said too
much potassium can mess with your heart rhythms.

Thoughts?

Deb, not only will it mess with your heart rhythms, too much potassium can
really kill you. Take the blood test first. My friends father died in Dec.
from too much potassium. It was a surprise and a shock to all.

A couple talking about how they love their new low-carb lifestyle, but are
concerned about all the nutrients they don't get because of it. So they take
the special vitamins, of course. :-)

I have been posting here warning people about self prescribing potassium for a
couple of years. It can be very dangerous. Most doctors agree though that the
amount in a multi vitamin is generally considered safe as long as you are not
already too high. If there is any doubt get tested. I have had a potassium
imbalance and was told I could have died as a result. Every so often someone on
here posts that they have leg cramps and someone always recommends potassium
supplements although it may be many other things. I found out that low calcium
levels can cause leg cramps too. So can poor circulation, using muscles not
used to exercise and oddly enough too much potassium.

Try www.webMD.com and look up potassium. There is some great info on it there.

I just take them because I find it easier to take. And the one a day has some
vitamins/supplements within them that I am not taking right now. Its cheaper
also than the Atkins brand ones. I seen the commercials also. They did not
bother me. The commercials are not what caused me to buy them. I did read the
label first before buying. I thought about it first. Here is the supplement
fact on the website.

Thanks for all ur reply and feedback.
Thank you~Sunshyne! I check the web since I am taking One A Day vitamins.
I found my answers on the web, JFY!! So I will start the new one (CarbSmart)
after finishing my WeightSmart!

Q. I am using One-A-Day Weight but I am on a low-carb diet. Which will
provide optimal benefits for me, WeightSmart or new One-A-Day CarbSmart?
A. One-A-Day WeightSmart and One-A-Day CarbSmart are
multivitamin/multimineral supplements to the foods you eat each day. If you
are on a low-carb diet, One-A-Day CarbSmart is designed to more-specifically
meet the needs of your low-carb lifestyle.

Q. Is it safe for me to take both One-A-Day WeightSmart and One-A-Day
CarbSmart to get the benefits of both?
A. While there is no safety issue, we recommend you finish your supply of
one formula (1 tablet daily), then choose the One-A-Day formula that best
meets your dietary needs.

Q. I have been using One-A-Day WeightSmart and want to switch over to your
new One-A-Day CarbSmart formula. Is that safe to do?
A. Yes. One-A-Day CarbSmart and One-A-Day WeightSmart are
multivitamin/multimineral supplements to the foods you eat each day. If you
are following a low-carb diet, we recommend that you finish your supply of
One-A-Day WeightSmart, taking one tablet daily, then begin using One-A-Day
CarbSmart.
