Default Setting a Goal

I hit my 10% a while ago, and I'm coming up to the poundage that WW has
set for me (160). I have a couple of personal goals, however: I would
like to be, in a perfect world, 145. I had been thinking that 155
would be a nice compromise between the two, but with the way this last
10 lbs has been coming off, I think that setting a WW goal of 160,
going through maintence, and *then* losing the last 5-15 lbs w/o paying
(which is key) might be a better way.

What do you think? How have you set your goals?

We must be near the same height. Mine is also 160. I've been down to
154 but the 160 works for me. The last few pounds come off very, slowly
but you will find that you will continue to lose through maintenance.

this is exactly what I will do. I have been struggling for a year I have
been as low as 151.2 and am now back up a bit, my WW goal is 146, when I get
there, I will do maintenance as they recommend, then I will work on getting
in as good shape as possible, then I will try and lose more if it seems
needed, I would like to be a size 8 more than a particular weight. I have
asked DH to help in this area as I don't think I will ever be thin enough
for myself so he has agreed to let me know when I look good enough that he
doesn't want me to lose more. Lee

also when I start losing again after maintenance, I will do it in 2 pound
goals so I can stop without feeling a failure, and I might even do it in .4
goals just to make sure, Lee

I tried doing a similar thing - having my DH help let me know when I was
losing too much, but then I stopped listening to him and kept going. It
wasn't until ribs and vertebrae were poking through the loose skin as
pointed out by DH and the doctor did I realize I had gone too far. Now I
look at those pics and wonder what I was thinking!!! Needing to put weight
back on depressed me so much I couldn't stand it. I'm glad to be over that
for now though I still wonder if it will come back when I get closer again.
This time around though I will be listening to DH or else I'll be divorced
or so I'm told.

I have a size goal and I'm sticking to it. There's this really hot red
dress in my closet waiting for me...

Lee, this sounds like a great plan. It's hard not to think of ourselves
as fat and just not be happy even though its the farthest thing from the
truth. Also the losing becomes so addictive you become so afraid to
stop.

Default Setting a Goal

The ONLY time my husband ever said anything negative about my weight was
when he said "You know, you're getting really skinny, don't you think you
should stop losing soon?"

I was 117lbs... way too thin for my 5'5 self (ok 5'4 and 3/4).. of course I
went the other way.. now I'm 137!!! AAAAARRRGGG

but I'm going down!

I wanna be 127 though my official goal is 140lbs and Dr says I should be
around 135lbs..

No way to make everybody happy..

My DH was never critical of my weight. He knew of my lifelong battle with
eating disorders and felt helpless when up against it full blown. While I
doubt he'd really divorce me if I relapsed again, I equate it to tough love
in dealing with an alcoholic who is destroying him/herself.

thanks we talked about this for a long while before I decided on this plan,
he, as usual didn't want to bring it up but I did so he told me he didn't
want me to skinny, to skinny is either for nudie magazines or concentration
camps for him, a woman to hold should be curvy, Lee,

I am 5 and 3/4 so the goal is 146 because I am over 45 I would like to weigh
120 but am pretty sure that isn't realistic, I will be totally thrilled at
130 and live with anything over that to 146 if DH thinks I look non sick,
