I went to my first meeting today. I liked it. It was mostly educational.
I think I could learn a lot there. The leader seemed enthusiastic and tried
to get the members involved in discussion, but the members were kind of
quiet.

I bought a 10-meeting package and the starter kit with the food guide and
the dining out guide. I spent a little more money than I had planned...Oh
well.

I think I'll start with the flex plan. I need to learn portion control.
Badly. It will also be a change to keep track of what I eat, but I need to
be more aware of how much I'm eating. I like that there's no huge list of
forbidden foods.

I was a little overwhelmed at the meeting, and I thought that after the
meeting I'd feel depressed. But I didn't. Instead I felt almost hopeful.

Anyway, thanks for letting me share.

Patty

Good on ya Patty.

It IS a little overwhelming at first, it took me a few weeks before I truly
got into the swing of things, but I had decent losses from week one.

This board is a mine of information and the WW website is also.

Good luck and well done on taking that first step!

way to go Patty!

Buy yourself a good digital scale and it will become your best friend.
Trust me, you want to do this!
One thing to remember - don't try to change your food habits drastically!
Take your time and try to fit in foods that you currently enjoy, but make
sure that you count the points for them. Also try to meet the 8 healthy
guide lines, especially drinking your milk portions, drinking lots and lots
of water to help flush your system, take a good multivitamin and just "try"
to eat healthier overall...........you will see the pounds come off very
quickly.

Keep us up to date on your progress!

Thanks. I'm going to try to keep it to at least 1 to 1 1/2 lbs a week.
Slower and I may get too discouraged.

Congrats for starting Patty! I just started a week ago so am in the
same boat. Hope you like the plan - I really have enjoyed learning
to use it. I am doing the Flex program too.

I'm glad the first meeting went well. Best of luck with your progress. I
think you'll find the combination of meetings and online support to be
helpful in reaching your goals.
