Day 10 of 100 Day Diet -- still 7 pounds gone
250/243/200
Day 10 of 100 Day Diet I got on my scales this morning and saw that still 243 pounds were gone. Actually, my indicator probably would have gone somewhat higher, had I allowed it to move. But I know that if I continue to maintain a low calorie intake, I will lose weight, unless the laws of physics are suspended in my part of the world. And they are not. Just as putting on extra weight takes time, so does taking weight off. Also, it helps not to be misled by approaches that do not work, by pipe-dream ideas. My left foot hurts a bit today because of tendinitis so I'm going to skip my evening walk. At 8 pm, I have had 800 calories and that will be it for tonight, unless someone breaks into the house and forces me to eat more calories. Ain’t gonna happen. I hope everyone finds a diet approach that works! And keeps at it long enough for it to be effective! Yours, Caleb |

What is your daily metabolic rate (you can rough it out using various charts)? I'd say if you're reducing your diet by more than 1/2, should consult a medical professional, not just for your own safety, but to confirm that your diet will be as effective as possible, and as healthy as possible. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, and it wasn't destroyed in one, either. Moderate deficits are more effective in the long-run for a lot of reasons, and they also leave you a little less cranky. But way to go! |

What did you eat?- Its way low, his body is going to go into starvation mode, but he isn't likely to listen. |

I hope everyone finds a diet approach that works! And keeps at it long enough for it to be effective! Yours, Caleb 800 calories is a bit low. What did you eat? On that day -- I'm not sure. probably rice and veggies. 800 might be a bit low, but what is too low as an average? Mark Mattson, neuropsychologist, determines that eating every other day confers resistance to brain damage in mice and rats. Seems to me that "requirement" that some people seem to believe was God-given to eat a certain number of calories a day has led too, too many people to overeat and to maintain their unhealthy weight. "You're too skinny! Eat! Keep your strength up!" Nonsense view! Also, maybe 800 is low for for some -- and maybe for me too if I was going for a long hike. But then again, no one has to follow it. People come in different sizes, needs, capabilities, etc. Yours, Caleb |

But way to go! Thanks! My doc said fine! She wants me to be at less risk for gout, hypertension, etc. Makes sense to me. For me a more moderate weight loss leads to less task focus. As Rosie used to say here, "Your mileage may vary!" That is, we have to discover what works for us. Yours, Caleb |
