(OT) Who Says There's No Free Lunch?
Ok, so I'm still a yuppie. And that's why I love the occasional "Magic
Carpet Free Mediterranean Lunch". Toronto has a fabulous home furnishings and carpet emporium called "Elte" in a converted industrial space. And it includes a little cafe in a quiet area with dim chandeliers and rustic South of France wooden tables. It's for staff and visitors and if you are perusing a sofa or nice carpet, your sales person will gift you with a free lunch ticket. Everything on the menu is both fresh and light. In addition you can buy their one liter bottles of extra virgin olive oil from Italy which is superb for $7.00 Cdn. It helps if you want to recreate artichoke, roasted peppers, eggplant and cheese on a bed of greens at home and get the same amazing subtle flavor. We are not total deadbeats. My friend eventually went for a 9" x 12" old Persian carpet and I settled for a small one to replace something that was old and worn moth bait. For a while, lunch will be in the house, not on it. -- Diva ***** The Best Man For The Job Is A Woman |
