I would like to know the recommended %s of each. I've heard 30,40,30
and 40,30,30. TIA

I personally do 40% carbs, 30/30 protein and fat... YMMV

It depends on your goals. I recently read that runners need to have 60%
carbs, but if you're trying to build muscle you'll probably need more
protein. I shoot for 25/60/15 but end up more like 35/50/15 in the final
analysis due to my personal food preferences and sensitivities. YMMV.

Dr. Willett from Harvard says that there are no magic percentages.
Some caveats: 1) over 70 grams of protein daily strains your kidneys.
2) more important than the pc's is the quality. Eat good carbs, good
fats, and good proteins. What are they? See

Only if you have preexisting kidney problems.

You're at about my percentage breakdown. Runners and other high-cardio
atheletes need a lot of carbs. Low carb diets are not ideal when running,
cross country skiing, etc.

Personally, I feel better when I do not over load on protein. Around 15-20%
is perfect for me.

Interesintg -- you and a few others have mentioned this recently but
I've never heard it before. I'm curious -- in what way does eating
more protein make you feel worse? I think I feel better when I eat
more of it. Anyway, I know when I'm hungry protein tends to be what I
want first.

I think the differences in each of us are interesting. I feel like a slug if
I eat too much protein. I also don't feel well if I don't get at least 4-5
servings of fruits & veggies daily, especially fruit. It gives me energy. I
always have a piece of fruit around 10am. If I forget it, or don't get it, I
don't have the *zip* I usually do.
