Default Shopping List Feedback, please

I put together a little list on my computer to print out when I go shopping.
Its organized by the isle the food is in, not by food group. I'd like some
suggestions on what can be added to the list. I try to stay away from naming
brand names.

Any suggestions are fine. Specifically, a few additional whole grains would
be good. Also, are there any low-fat red meats that can be added to the
list?

Also, I keep hearing that "at least half your grains should be whole
grains". Is there any harm in trying to stick with only whole grain
products?

Thanks!

Looks fairly decent to me!

I'd read labels on some of the items though, and watch for added trans
fats and things like corn syrup. The body doesn't like either.

I don't know if the almonds and cashews you are buying are raw or
seasoned, but hubby brought home a bag of seasoned sliced almonds and
I was dismayed to see that it contained some trans fats! Needless to
say, I usually buy my nuts raw.

Watch for trans fats on microwave popcorn as well, even some that say
zero trans fats actually still have small amounts. Likewise for
crackers. Margarine too is often a suspect. I use a real butter/canola
oil spread... and limit quantity.

Rice cakes... little real nutritional value.

Meats... well, lean ground meat is great and useful for burgurs,
chili, soups, etc...

London Broil is also a fairly lean red meat if you trim the fat, and
can be used in salads, or cut up in chunks for chili or stews.

If you can find sales on petite sirloin steaks, those are good too and
very lean.

There's really no reason to NOT stick with whole grain products. I
think the "half" is for those who simply won't give up their white
flour products.

Better still, eat the whole grains and ditch as many "products" as you
can, as "products" may contain added fats, trans fats, salt,
chemicals, sugar, corn syrup and other stuff one can do without.
