I am fat and I can ride a bike for 2-4 miles
Fat and fit is not a myth. I would ride a bike against any thin person and
keep up just fine. I ride at least two miles to the grocery store or the coffee shop in my town almost every day. I weigh around 240lbs. 5'10" tall I see fat people walking all the time and they are not out of breath or in a scooter. I think the media and the helthcare system want the world to believe being fat is a handicap and it isn't. Some extra weight doesn't hurt at all as long as you are mobile and able to do what you want. Enough of the negativity. Ken Young |

You better be fat and fit, than thin and unfit..
Ideally though, I wanna be thin (not skeletal, just thin) and fit... and stay thin and fit Will~ "KY" wrote in message ... Fat and fit is not a myth. I am fat and I can ride a bike for 2-4 miles
When I was at my heaviest weight, 208 at 5' 7", I could ride 30 miles along
the beach, often into a headwind, and keep a good pace. Mind you, I was riding a lightweight aluminum racer, mostly on level ground but with some modest inclines. Modern bicycles offer an amazing mechanical advantage. Despite my ability to cycle long distances, my health was not good and I developed Type II diabetes. After shedding 45 pounds, I can do much more, including hiking up mountains and swimming distances I never imagined. My knee and hip problems disappeared, my allergies diminished subtantially, and my memory is much better. If you can lose the weight, it's well worth it. "KY" wrote in message ...
