Personally, I love the stuff. I like it as well as Splenda, and it
costs half as much, too. Now Sweet N Low is NASTY. Safe? I think so.
If there were major problems, they would be taken off the market.
Also, they've been around a long time now and any statistical problems
would have shown up. Lot's of speculation, but compared to sugar, I
like them. Sugar causes let's see....diabetes, sugar blues,
hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, wild kids, rotten teeth, obesity, heart
trouble, kidney failure, and damages car engines. You can also throw
out your back lugging the big bags of it around. There's supporting
data for each of these claims and most of them are closer to the truth
than the opinions about Aspartame. Actually, diet pop is really great
for dieters, supposedly because you drink the pop cold, it take
calories just to maintain your body heat, thus there are negative
calories in diet sodas. Significant? Probably not, but it's fun to
think about. dkw
