Thanks Glo! As you might have read in an earlier post I past the 400# goal
and am now at 394#. People are really amazed more at the way I'm losing the
weight more than anything. But as all of you have kept reiterating, portion
control & exercise is the only way to lose weight and keep it off...

Great to hear it JS. You'll find a lot of love & support here on the group.
Some of it will be 'tough love'(thanks Ig for that) that you may think you
don't want, but in the long run it'll help you.

When I started reading the group & posting questions I was at 481#. Ig and a
few others helped me figure out the best plan of attack towards my new
WOE/WOL(took me a while to realize this meant Way Of Eating/Way Of Life). I
was seriously considering the weight loss surgery but after a lot of
research & comments from others on the board I no longer want to pursue that
avenue. I realized that I would have to have a new WOE/WOL even after the
surgery for the rest of my life so why not avoid the pain, stress, & expense
and lose weight without the surgery.

I use FitDay(the PC version, there's also a free online version at
www.fitday.com) to calculate my calories and exercise for the day. Right now
I'm at 2000cal daily during the week & 2500cal daily on the weekends. I am
also walking 50 minutes a day, 5 days a week, this works out to around 2
miles a day.

With this WOE/WOL, I can eat anything I want as long as it fits into my
calories for the day. With the surgery, you'd have to cut out a whole lot
and plan eating your meals a tablespoon at a time...(nothing against the
surgery, it's just not for me...)

You may want to find an accountability partner as well, I don't think I
could have gone this far without one. I get an email every morning asking
how I did the previous day and praises when I do well. Preferably someone
not related to you that will be brutally honest to help keep you on track.

Again JS, great to hear from you and feel free to post anytime!

I decided to post my daily menu each day, regardless of how bad it went. (I
don't have an accountability partner and I think the comments will be
"brutally honest"). I've checked into FitDay.com and will try out the
software.

Thanks for the support and advice.
