Total curiosity, but as ASD seems pretty darn dead, I was wondering,
where DO the regulars hang out online these days?

Groups, forums, other newsgroups?

Me, I'm over at the Precision Nutrition forums fairly frequently, but
am also signed up at the JPFitness forum. And then I recently joined
Iowa Avenue and of course, am blogging these days.

So no troubles with support, but was wondering where the rest of the
old gang was getting support.

Things have been slow, but I'm getting close to having lost the 10
pounds I gained over the holidays and my feet are better than they
were. I feel better than ever, but the water workouts do wear me. I go
at them pretty hard.

Yeah, I read, when there is anything much TO read here, LOL!

I recently completed by training with Weight Watchers for receptionist. I
plan on taking the leader training after I retire this year. Being a WW
employee should keep me on track

Congrats! I think that is a great way to keep on track. My mother did
it and she maintained her losses very well.

I spend most of my time hanging out in a bicycle forum since cycling has
taken over my life lately. I guess if I needed an addiction this one isn't
bad. The winter weather has really cut into the outdoor riding but I have
managed to get out there a few times when the temps get above 25F and the
roads are clear. On those other days I ride the indoor trainer, jump on the
treadmill or do a little weight training. I keep saying I'm going back to
the gym but as usual I keep putting it off - I'm not overly fond of
gyms At least my gym membership is at the senior rate and doesn't cost
too much. Maybe I'll be more inclined to use it after I retire.

Yeah, I figure people have gravitated to forums that interest them.

I like the idea of cycling, but not where I live. The hills are pretty
steep and there are some amazing potholes to dodge. Anyway, my foot
doctor only lets me do a stationary bike and only if my feet are
positioned in a specific way on the pedals and with no real
resistance.

Some day though, if we ever move again, I might like to have a bike
again, even if that is how I originally hurt my right knee.

I've bookmarked your blog.....I like what I see there.

Cool!

I liked what I saw on the scale this morning... but we'll see how that
goes. Last night I was in a ton of pain from my left shoulder, feet
bothering me too and wasn't even sure if I could do water aerobics
today, but I feel better, so will go and try to take it easier on my
arms. Gym bag is packed!

I'm also pretty sure that my body fat is going down... I actually
looked at all my January numbers vs. my February ones... January had a
lot of measurements at 40% or above, except like the last two.
February has had some measurements at that level, but most have been
at 39%+. It's slow progress, but I'm OK with it.

Getting the eating in line has been the hardest. Too few calories and
my body shuts down and I stall, too many and I go the other direction.
It's a narrower line than it used to be.

Me too. I'm still subscribed to this group and download the messages
every day, but there's not much I feel like saying in response to most
of what's posted here.

I don't do a lot on line. I'm just very busy IRL. It's good to know
some of the old faces are still around, anyway.

How is it going with the osteoporosis?

Are you still doing those wonderful hikes?

What an amazing coincidence! I hang out on a cycling forum too! :-)

I read but don't normally post. Just too busy with oldest graduating
this year--college visits, prom, financial aid puzzles, party
planning--and in four years I get to do it all over again.

I did find I grew lazy and complacent--and a little arrogant--about my
weight and ability to maintain. I was 115 lbs for YEARS! and now I'm at
125 lbs, wondering what the hell happened.

But, I'm back on track. I joined Weight Watchers (that's how I lost 53
lbs ten years ago) with my MIL, and I am committing to the gym at least
5 days a week. I was getting very, very lazy when it came to exercise.
However, I did manage to take first place at a bench press competition.
Woohoo!

Take care, and I'll try to post more often.

I hear that. I can barely keep up with the few places I am online. I
definitely don't manage to download every day myself!

Good to hear from you though!

Well, age creeps up... muscle gets lost. 10 pounds is not so bad.

Yeah, keeping up the exercise is going to be important. There's days
when I can hardly stop myself from doing it and then there are days
where it's really tough to convince myself to get off my butt.

Good going on the bench press!
