Default 80 Pounds Lost

I weighed today lost 4 pounds this week for a grand total of 80 pounds
lost. I still have a lot more to lose but this week I was able to weigh
on my Doctor's scales something I haven't been able to do in my adult
life. I know that seems like a little thing but it was really an
important event for me. I started Atkins 1/1/03 was off and on it a lot
in August I'd only lost 15 pounds. I got serious then I've been on
induction since then.

Nancy,
You are doing great!
Losing 80 pounds is amazing. Take a look at something that weighs 80
pounds; hard to believe that much actually came off, huh?

Being able to use the doctor's scale is certainly a milestone in itself!

Mark.

COngrats, you've done great.

I got serious then I've been on induction since then.

You should consider moving to Phase 2. Keeping carbs at 20 doesn't
necessarily make you lose faster. If you read through posts you'll
find people stalling a lot at induction levels. If you have a lot of
weight you'll stall much less, but when you drop down you are likely
to stall. Also some people after 6 months or more have their body
adapt and they can even end up gaining weight at 20 carbs (like an
Eskimo's metabolism).

I started upping carbs almost 5 weeks ago. I do 2 weeks at each 5 gram
increment now. I found the first week I bounce around a lot--including
up. No biggie--by end of week I'm dropping fast to make up difference.
I'm at 35g(2nd week) and I'm actually dropping weight slightly faster
now than I did at Induction.

The key is to find the most carbs with the best weight loss. This way
you aren't starving your body of carbs--they aren't evil, just need to
be moderated to your specific needs.

Being "off-the-scale" is upsetting. I had to buy a new one. Losing enough
weight to use the old scale is a wonderful thing.

Congratulations!
