I make some form of bread, either in rolls, loafs or the like each week. I
don't own a bread machine. I love the punching and kneading. It's a great
workout for one's arms. : )

And it probably tastes better too... I don't do bread, but I swear handmade
pie crust tastes and feels way better than the one I made with the food
processor. The food processor tends to overdo it, while kneading by hand
allows you to stop at exactly the right moment. Same for pizza dough. I
guess the same applies for bread...
Besides, digging your hands into some fresh dough is one of the most
pleasurable thing you can do while cooking. Loved that as a kid, still do.

I haven't used my bread machine in over a year. I'm not a big bread

there some trick to storing it. I'm not a fan of bread kept in the
fridge.

When I was selling Tupperware, we were told to never keep bread in the
fridge, but to freeze it instead. We make 2 small loaves at a time and
freeze one. It seems to last about a week wrapped loosely in a cereal
bag in my breadbox. My husband has a sandwich for lunch every day. I
don't eat much bread but I always have the heel when it's fresh out of
the oven s. If you used less than a loaf per week, you might freeze
half?

Someone else who likes the heel of the breadG That's my favoritie part of
bread. Many times I just eat the crust off bread and rolls and leave the
rest.
