It would have been better to put that marinara sauce on a chicken breast rather than on spaghetti :-). Chris 262/130s/130s |

They are killed before you eat them. |

It seems to me that many people who are vegetarians eat a lot of crap (by which I mean empty carbs -- bread, sweets, chips, fries, etc.) instead of making the effort needed to find healthy protein sources (which is certainly more challenging for a vegetarian). If you're a vegetarian, I'd expect to see more veggies in your diet :-). You need to add more legumes, soy products, low-fat dairy, and such. And nuts are good, but you need more than just a salad garnish to make a difference. Chris 262/130s/130s |

Lots of people will say, "Well, you HAVE to eat healthy since you're vegetarian." and I'm like, "Don't kid yourself. Lots of vegetarians eat a lot of junk. Lots of junk food and carbs." I was definitely in this category for a long time. I do need to eat more of the healthy things you mentioned. What are legumes? They are killed before you eat them. shau: there's a product called nutritional yeast flakes and power. It is very high in complete B vits that help combine aminos from diff sources. It is great on almost any pasta, soup, pizza, toast, buttered rice, potato chips etc Vegs get complete protein outfoxing neg effects of our love of junk food. Spare me the blurbs i'm not addressing vegans here. Putting brown rice on your vanilla ice cream makes more complete protein chains, resulting in less mucous, often the result of unmatched protein and carbohydrate. When it says whole grain check to see / percentage, sometimes its caramel colored white bread, with a 2% sprinkle of wheat germ. Pepperage Farm' Whole Grain gets a good rating fr Nutrition Action's review of REAL WHOLE GRAIN breads. There are only a few. We eat ice cream with corn chips and you can taste the protein combining your mouth. Tofu, like meat, is tasteless until you flavor it, or enrich the subtlty of its own flavor with butter, sesame oil, and spices. The alternative milk is a combination of soy and- rice or oat or barley milks, hmmm with barley malt and sugar. Blends well w/ icecream and fruit. Hope im getting you hungry let's lose another veg to poor commercial offers for people who want to eat for a healthier self and planet. |
