Back after a 2 Week Absence
Back after a 2 Week Absence
As you may remember 2 weeks ago I was struggling with a slow down and had hoped to break that plateau in two weeks. Well life had other ideas for those two weeks. Instead late Memorial Day Monday our den flooded. It absolutely ruined our almost brand new laminate flooring. The next couple of days were a parade of visitors and contractors (plumbers, HVAC, a floor cleanup team, ins. claims reps., etc.) and unplanned absences from work. As you can imagine it was an unplanned home nightmare. In the middle of it all my one dear cat got stuck in the walls and we had to rescue him and I now have a 6x6" hole in my kitchen where I rescued him and his entrance point into the walls that I have to deal with in addition to arranging new flooring. My entire den contents are strewn around the first floor and the porch with my couch in my kitchen! That was week one. I did not make my meeting and did the best I could continuing on plan. Now week two. My dad had a weird vision spell at work (he works alone on the graveyard shift). He somehow got through it and drove himself twenty minutes home after he finished his essential work. My mom foisted him immediately off to the ER (smart woman). He was admitted. They though he might have had a mini stroke. He's be in there a couple days now and we don't have any news other than he didn't have a mini stroke. HOW FRUSTRATING. During the days at work I am on plan, but at night at the hospital I am not doing as well. I'm getting most of the water in. That is week two and I am doing the best I can on plan considering the circumstances. So this week's weigh in are one meeting's absence? Only a 0.4 pound gain. WOOHOO! Two weeks ago before all this and a 0.4 gain? I would have been irritated. These two weeks? I'll take it!!!! Now I HOPE to return to some more normalcy. Just got to find out what is wrong with my dad! Good weeks to you all? I am looking forward to catching up on the group's posts. Melissa in NJ |

Back after a 2 Week Absence
Melissa,
It is amazing you stayed on plan with all of that stress. Last summer our bathroom ceiling caved in due to an air conditioning problem so I know what a mess you had. I am so sorry to hear about your dad but glad to know your mom took him immediately to the ER. I just read an article yesterday about the importance of time when someone has a stroke. I hope he has a quick recovery. ..4 is so little It will probably be off in a day or two. Hope this week is calm and peaceful. Audrey "Melissa in NJ" wrote in message oups.com...
