Then, why do so many of them embark in a yearly diet, in an effort to lose
that weight? Which, year after year fails and only makes them fatter and
fatter. Yet, they keep going at it with blind optimism...
Many fat people are in a semi-permanent state of depression because of their
weight. The problem is that they don't like being thin any more than being
fat. They just don't like themselves, in whatever state. Most of these
yearly diets result in rapid weight loss, and then huge rebound as soon as
the "thin" state is reached.


Hmm, this certainly doesn't apply to me.
