Default first workout session with hrm

And.... I find that I was grossly overestimated my calories burned. Or
rather, my elliptical was. I kind of already figured I wasn't burning 11
calories per minute, but it was way off. In 43 minutes, my hrm says I
burned 365 calories, while the elliptical said around 500. Still, over a
week's time this is only a difference of 800 calories, which probably
wouldn't have ruined my diet or anything. But since my personality is to
overestimate how much I burn during exercise, and underestimate how much I
weigh, it's important to me to be honest with myself. I understand why
people say they are dieting and exercising and not losing any weight.
Yesterday I decided to measure my peanut butter before I put it on my toast,
and guess what? A tablespoon is not as big as I thought... no wonder!

Imagine that!

I also use the HRM to get a reasonable estimate of my activity. I have
found that higher end exercise equipment does a better job at calorie
estimates.

I do spot checks on some of my measuring to make sure the quantities aren't
creeping up
