Hi Laurie,

I just wanted to share some news with you--my mother
and sister joined the Thursday night TOPS group!

I had told them both about our meeting there, and what
a great group it seemed to be--and mentioned the names
of a few women that they both know. This will be their
third week (if they make it tomorrow night, that is)
and they both seem to enjoy the meetings and support.

This is a big step for my mother--she still hasn't
returned to work since my father's death--I think the
social aspect will help her tremendously.

I'm glad we got together there--otherwise I wouldn't
have known such a great group (similar in many ways to
ASD) existed. It's funny--one of the things Mom said to
me the other night was "I know I can't diet. I just
have to eat right and do more for the rest of my life."
In other words, eat less, exercise more, repeat,
forever. Did you pass that one along?

Cheers!

Amy

Oh how cool!! That is a great group and I'd go if I lived there.

I enjoyed that evening so much. I may have invoked our mantra g It's
the truth.

When I come next time, I'm bringing my bike. Good luck to your mom and
sister - you're a great example for them to follow.
