Oh My God Becky, Look at that Butt!
God has granted me the mercy of not having to see the view of my behind.
Unfortunately, my husband caught it on digital camera when taking a crowd shot on our canoe trip. I've uploaded it into my profile at http://www.body-for-life-tracker.com....cfm?id=34&s=B though I doubt I'll keep it there very long. It's pretty traumatic. I thought I had made some pretty great progress. I thought my legs were starting to look muscular and shapely. I thought my skin was getting less lumpy and... I thought I was near goal. I can't stop staring at it. It's like a train wreck. Does anyone have any words of comfort for me? Besides never wear a bathing suit in public again, I mean? Dally |

Dally Tell your DH to stop taking pics of your ass and forget about it Just keep doing what your doing and know that you will never be 16 again ... and remember that no one else will be either. ~Kat "The early bird gets the worm, the second mouse gets the cheese." |

Well, Dally, I can see the lighting wasn't the most flattering; you are in motion which means stuff is in movement and a still photo does not do justice; and I'm certain that if you had a "before" photo taken in the same pose with the same lighting you would see a tremendous improvement. Given all that, you have a nice shape and nothing to be ashamed of. - Dewolla |

Everyone takes a lousy picture now and then .... (unfortunately, some - like me - more than others). Hold your head up high, pour yourself a big ole glass of water and force yourself to stop staring at it :-). You are beautiful, you are fit and you are strong. Move on. Teri |

I can TOTALLY sympathize! When that song came out I knew it was made for me. :-( Forget the never wearing a swimsuit in public thing, look how much better you look now than in your first picture! You have worked so hard, so I can understand the frustration, but you have to know that things are still shifting and you won't even look like the same woman next year. That's what bad lighting and cold water do to you... Try taking a digital picture of your behind after a warm shower and in more favorable lighting conditions (sun behind the photographer). I assure you, I never try to get a view of my behind. That was part of a larger crowd scene and I just snipped out the part with me in it. (My middle son is in the water by my elbow, my daughter is in the tube near my head dressed in red.) I was not and won't be posing for ass shots. Look at your left upper thigh (which is well lighted), it looks very good. Part of what bothers me is that my hip and thigh measurements have been dropping. I'm really losing that last-to-go fat. I think it's leaving that loose puckery skin that has plagued me all along. Your upper back looks anatomically strange though. Uh, thanks. I've got a very strong upper back - it doesn't hold much fat and I lift weights 3x a week. I suspect what you're seeing are muscles and bones. I assure you they are the normal complement. Anyhow, obviously, you do not have a 18 year tennis player's old's legs, but they are looking much better once you correct for the bad light angle and do a still picture. You are not done losing weight, either... All in all, you look pretty nice. Thanks. I thought so too before I saw that picture. Dally 244/175.5/169 |

"Dally" wrote in message ... God has granted me the mercy of not having to see the view of my behind. but he also created digital cameras and husbands to take pictures... Does anyone have any words of comfort for me? Besides never wear a bathing suit in public again, I mean? It's not as bad as you think - and as others have said, you're not a teenager anymore. Lumpy comes with the territory. My first HMR leader (who actually did the program) said it took over a year for her lumps to work their way out. She thought she had cancer at first. I even had lumpy forearms for a while... Anyway, you can definitely see a hamstring trying to make its way out and your back has some nice muscle, not to mention you have the nice curve from the lower back to the top of your butt. Dally I will add it might be the cut of the legs on the swimsuit. The high rise legs just emphasize any flaws we have in the upper thigh area. Look at the difference between the pics of you in shorts and the swimsuit. The shorts cover the problem area. The high rise legs are supposed to make our legs look longer but they sure aren't flattering to those of us who have a few extra pounds in that area. Don't let one bad pic get you down! Beverly |
