Default Newsreaders to get rid of cross-posts was: Atkins interview transcript

This transcript reminded me a Lipitor ad I saw on TV. It depicted a
thin, pale, sad looking woman splashing in water, and said: "___ is a
vegetarian since 1983. Her cholesterol is 262. When diet and exercise
do not help lower cholesterol, try Lipitor". I wonder why it did not
say, if your diet does not work for 21 years, junk your stupid diet
first.

``Dr GARY FOSTER: We fully expected that this would be a quick and
dirty study. We would show that cholesterol would actually get much
worse. It would be the first and last study of the Atkins diet.

NARRATOR: But when Foster sifted through the data he too couldn't
believe his eyes.

Dr GARY FOSTER: My first reaction was could this be, this doesn't make
a lot of sense. Not only were there no bad effects of the diet in
terms of cholesterol, but actually there were quite positive ones.

NARRATOR: In other words despite the fears about eating lots of fat it
looked as if the Atkins diet might not be bad for the heart after all.

Dr GARY FOSTER: You actually had about a tenfold improvement in
cholesterol compared to a low fat, low calories diet.''

OK, has anyone ever seen a cross-posted message that was worth a damn?
Anyone know of newsreaders that can get rid of cross-posted messages?

Nfilter is a supplemental program that may meet your needs.
Specifically, read section 3.5 in the nfilter FAQ.

emacs can do it (heck, emacs can do pretty much anything).

Here's the relevent bits of the SCORE file for that:

(("xref"
("[^:\n]+:[0-9]+ +[^:\n]+:[0-9]+" -1000 nil r))
(mark -20)
(expunge -500)
("head"
("^Newsgroups:.*," -500 nil r)))

(I didn't say it was easy ;-)

Ah, I didn't know that. I typically try to ignore crossposted stuff, but
I accidently read a few (my newsreader automatically selects a news
"article" sometimes).

A laudable program. I'm trying to figure out if tin lets me do that. I
can think of about five other groups I'd want to killfile, as well.
