Thanks Catherine. When you're right you're right. I'm OK with
maintaining, in more than just weight.

Thanks Fred. Your common-sense talk helps. I have set my goals and my
mini-goals. I just have to get to 157, then 155, then 152, then 150,
and so on.

I'm disappointed about the bike and reminded the bike shop today that
first I'd been promised the bike on Tuesday because they thought they
had the fenders in stock; when I called on Tuesday, I was told I'd
have the bike before the weekend. I also told them that I expected to
have the bike to use for bike commuting due to the transit strike and
so if the bike wasn't ready on Monday as newly promised, I would be
very unhappy and not eager to do future business with them. As much as
I like supporting small businesses, sometimes the big guys take
customer service more seriously. I like your idea about their
contacting another shop. I may call tomorrow and suggest it.

Today I'm grateful to see no change in my weight from last week. I've
been on a mental plateau this week. Hitting the 70+ total loss and
getting below 160 is doing a job on my motivation to keep going. This
is further than I expected to go; some part of me I haven't heard from
before is wondering why I think I should even further.

It probably didn't help that, on a whim, I tried on a jacket formerly
worn by one of my skinny daughters and discovered that it fit. I also
went shopping for some new jeans and got into a classic fit size 10
petite withOUT stretch. When I also discovered that the medium tops
fit nicely, I realized I should head over to the foundations
department for new undergarments and give my girls a new lift. Since
starting WW, I've gone down from 44DD to 38D.

My food was off this week. More importantly, I didn't exercise even
once. I'm on a rollercoaster ride with the impending construction work
on my kitchen and bathroom. My current dilemma is deciding what kind
of kitchen sink I want and how much of my construction budget I want
to spend on it. I still haven't gotten my bike. Later today I'll have
to call and find out if I need to get cranky. The bus strike started
and I'm carpooling, leaving earlier than usual and getting home later.
I'm starting with a new hospice patient whose health issues. A major
project I've been involved with at work is nearing completion and
morphing into an even bigger project.

All of this is to say that I took a bit of a breather from WW this
week to marvel at my overall progress and to focus on a few other
pressing issues. That I ended up maintaining is a wonder.

It's the best day of my life!

Thanks Julie. My routines are going to be even more disrupted next
week as the portapotty gets set up in the back yard and the dumpster
is moved alongside the front curb. Going from a one-bathroom house to
a no-bathroom house should prove adventuresome. Figuring out alternate
ways to prepare food will be challenging too although not as bad since
I tend to use my Foreman grill, my microwave, and my slow cooker for
most of my cooking needs. It's the stir-fry stuff that will have to
wait until construction is done.

No bike yet. And we had more snow yesterday and rain today. It isn't
really biking weather yet. I'm just pretending it's spring. G

I found them at Kohl's, believe Penneys may also carry them. I saw the lee's at
kohls.com, have them in petites. G The levi's are tougher though, because of
those stupid style numbers. 515 sticks in my mind as the ones I like ... but
might be 505. I have no clue! LOL

I saw at Costco today, Gloria Vanderbuilt capris - looked really cute. I didn't
buy any though, didn't know if they had a place to try things on and have no clue
as to what size to purchase.

I remember those remodeling days. I couldn't decide on kitchen flooring, and
desperately needed something as the underlayment really didn't make much of a
statement (or one that I wanted). So I opted for extremely cheap for the interim.
I think we put something down for about $150 ... took me over 2 years before I
finally found something I felt I could live with and was willing to put more money
into. Renovating is fun, but also very frustrating.

Gloria Vanderbilt's are doing me just fine.

Between the fuss at work and the commotion at home trying to pick

lighting and bathroom fixtures and accessories, well, it's all fun but
my brain is getting clogged.

like clown pants on me. I have a pair of carpenter pants on today, size 6 and
very baggy. I could take a 4 in these and probably still have a bit of room to
spare - they don't come in 4's. In lower rise jeans I seem to need a smaller size

like to be able to breath. I haven't tried the Gloria Vanderbilt jeans, always
made the assumption that those *designer* names wouldn't work for me - maybe I
will give them a try as I saw some cute capri's in a sales ad this week. I found
a new one that does fit me well though, only ones in the Lee brand that aren't
baggy in the legs ... they have a *one true fit* or something like that - fits me
very nicely ... everywhere. Same with the Levi Nouveau but I forget which number
(why do they assign the styles numbers???). The levi's have a little stretch to
them, great in the waist but tend to get a tad baggy in the seat after a few
hours. Oh well, I like the baggy better than the constant snug I used to deal
with. g Shirts are an entirely different story with me - range anywhere from a
small to a large, depending on the store and brand. I have no clue.

I do have two pairs of jeans from the gap, but they don't seem to fit as well as
these others I have found. They fit *ok* and are acceptable ... except for the
price. G Shirts at the Gap are definitely made for younger females, those with
little to no chest factor. G Even my 105 pound daughter has to take a medium
there. They seem to be cut small and short ... not good options for women with
longer body lengths.

What you suggest is what I will do if the bike isn't ready as
promised: "Monday. Definitely. Tuesday at the latest." They've offered
to let me take the bike without fenders but as sloppy as it is here
right now with fresh snow over melting snow, the fenders are an
important feature this time of year. I really don't want to ride it
without fenders. Maybe I'm just being picky, but I wouldn't enjoy
riding the bike while getting a black wet stripe down my back. I think
I can be patient for another day. In the meantime I can "Walk Away the
Pounds" and use my stability ball etc.

Sorry about the bike delay. Sometimes parts are a problem with
backorder. But suggest appropriately you expected the bike and the
transit strike makes it even more important that they move on it,
including contacting another shop who may provide them the parts
(fenders, was it?). Shops usually know one another.

All of this is to say that I took a bit of a breather from WW this

pressing issues. That I ended up maintaining is a wonder.

It's the best day of my life!

No, but on clearance they are very attractive. I have a shirt from the Gap
that I bought specifically as a NSV clothing shirt. I paid $1.99 for it. I
do hope to get into it at some point, it's an XL.

Good point on the local sloppiness. We don't have snow anymore, but is very wet
and muddy. While riding around for pleasure that stripe might not be too bad to
deal with, using the fenderless bike for transportation to and from employment -
might not leave you with the *look* you are trying to achieve. g I don't think
you are being picky at all. You want what you want, what you paid for, and
expected it to be delivered when it was promised. You paid for that service and
are entitled to receive it. Give 'em hell girl. They are a service oriented
business, might as well let them know that you are not happy with their service so
far.

I still haven't made the purchase of a stability ball - might put that on my
birthday wish list. G For now, the weights are taunting me from nearby ...
gotta do me some larnin' first.

important feature this time of year. I really don't want to ride it
without fenders. Maybe I'm just being picky, but I wouldn't enjoy
riding the bike while getting a black wet stripe down my back. I think
I can be patient for another day. In the meantime I can "Walk Away the

let them know that I would be purchasing it at another store that could deliver as
agreed. That's just me though. It also depends on if you can get this same bike

calling you when they get the fenders in? This way you could still enjoy the
bike, take it in to have fenders installed ... while you wait of course.

Default RAFL week 9 - Prairie Roots

I remember those remodeling days. I couldn't decide on kitchen flooring, and
desperately needed something as the underlayment really didn't make much of a
statement (or one that I wanted). So I opted for extremely cheap for the interim.
I think we put something down for about $150 ... took me over 2 years before I
finally found something I felt I could live with and was willing to put more money
into. Renovating is fun, but also very frustrating.

Hey, I did something like that, too. Only it was about $20.00 worth
of the cheapest home depot linoleum. It was a matter of my dad coming
to visit, the wood flooring taking too long to find a contractor slot
and then me choosing the wood and covering the mess the rest of the
remodeling had created on the old flooring. It helped as I realized
that too light a color was not a good idea for a kitchen floor -
showed every blade of grass tracked in from mowing, all water
droplets, etc. The nice grain and color of oak flooring hides a
multitude of sins and grass clippings (G)
