Hello people...it feels a little odd writing my first post to this group
because I've been lurking in the shadows reading it all for what seems like ages - and is probably close to six months. I'm Cellach, female, 32 years old and 6' tall (183cm). I live in the UK. Two weeks ago I finally decided to make the commitment to my body and lose weight. I think it's been sheer laziness that has seen me swell up over the years. But I can, and will, put it behind me. I just wanted to start posting in order to make myself accountable to a few other people! I aim to post once a week with my weight - I'm not on line enough to be able to post my food daily like I see a few here do. I'm following what I aim to make my WOL - "Slimming World Food Optimising" which I've also seen referred to here (Hi Janice!). So far so good...8lbs gone. Thank you all for the advice I've gathered over the past few months - even if it's not what I want to do it's been useful to see you all talk about what works for you. Cellach (who is off to her evening class in digital photography and plans to walk the mile and a half there and back - got to start somewhere, huh?) 274/266/224(mini goal) |

Welcome, Cellach! I've found that participating in this group has
really helped me keep motivated, and I know it can do that for you too. Chris 262/178/??? -- started out at around the same weight you did :-) |

I would kill to be 6'0"! Height goes a long way in tennis if you are
looking for an exercise that is fun and burns megacalories when you get good. Plus, I bet you have never gotten so frustrated that you systematically went through your home with serious hardware and lowered all the cabinets. It effectively doubled my storage as I could never reach things on the top shelves! Anyway, welcome to the group. One thing I know from being vertically challenged is that even a couple of pounds can make a difference in the way my clothes fit, etc. I imagine it requires more for a taller person to really appreciate the difference. Exercise is hard for me for the first couple of weeks when I take time off for an extended period. I get tired and it doesn't seem to have any of the benefits that it really does. However, by week three, you get to really feel excited about it and an hour or so here and there can make a tremendous difference in your day. I used to think I was too busy to exercise but I find that if I take time away from my work, I am so much more productive for the rest of the day that I more than make up for the hour I spend on the treadmill. I still haven't figured out how to exercise while making day trips out of town which require leaving at 6:00 and returning close to seven at night to write reports for the next morning. Luckily, the little world tour I am on now will be over next week! I love photography. Alas, I am not very good but would love to see your pics if you have any posted online! j "Cellach" wrote in message ...
