If you go to http://siestasoftware.com/freeware.htm and download Food Composition, you'll essentially have the USDA database at your fingertips - not only carbs and calories but fats and proteins as well. http://www.fitnesoft.com LifeForm. It's shareware. After using it for
only a day I was so impressed I immediately registered it. I've been using it almost every day now since last December. -- Jenny Cut the carbs to respond to my new email address! You can download DietPower from www.dietpower.com. It's the only
program on the market that can guarantee reaching a goal weight on a target date, because it monitors your metabolic rate as you log your foods, exercise, and weight, and adjusts your calorie budget accordingly. Besides calories in 11,000 foods, it tracks 32 other nutrients, as well as calories burned in exercise. Alternatively, you can look up calories in those same 11,000 foods at http://calorie-counter.dietpower.com...iecounter.aspx. |

The only problem I had with Diet Power was linking stuff at work with stuff at home. I had to write down what I ate at work and enter it in at home. They provide a way to use a disk, but this didn't really work. Maybe they've fixed that by now. -- Bob in CT |

Spam notes: 1. Your subject has "" to a thread that doesn't exist in this group. 2. Your "References" line refers to a message that doesn't exist. 3. You posted the exact same message on another group. writes: It's the only program on the market that can guarantee reaching a goal weight on a target date, because it monitors your metabolic rate as you log your foods, exercise, and weight, and adjusts your calorie budget accordingly. The Hacker's Diet does this too. Alternatively, you can look up calories in those same 11,000 foods at http://calorie-counter.dietpower.com...iecounter.aspx. Or http://www.delorie.com/health/ns/ or any other USDA-based search engine. |

OTOH in usenet-land, that means it effectively doesn't exist ;-) And I thought I was doing pretty good with one month retention times. |

G And I thought I was doing pretty good with one month retention times. Oh, I didn't get this from my box. I do have an archive of certain newsgroups, but in this case I just used Google when I saw there was a "Reference" message ID in his headers to see the whole thread. If you're looking for a server with good retention time the German one (Individual.net) acquits itself very well.
