Well, the glazed (the only ones I'm interested in from KK) are small and very light when hot and have a thin sugar coating over the entire donut. When hot, the are very soft and you can practically inhale them. I would not say they are significantly different from other donuts (just an ungodly amount of carbs and of zero nutritional value -- make that negative nutritional value), however. I've had very good donuts from other places too. But to me a cold glazed donut is not worth eating -- and if the sugary coating is not there, no way. |

Hello,
On 18-Feb-2004, "Roger Zoul" wrote: :: Carmen: :: You sir, are pure evil. My chicken breast and salad lunch suddenly became very unsatisfactory. G Well, I had that for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't need no stinkin donut! I'm sure some of them went into making some of the fat that still hanging around....I'm fortunate that I'm no longer slave to the call of the lit "hot" sign. Also, I'm even more fortunate that I don't have to go anywhere near a KK in my day-to-day travels. Me too. The nearest one is in Nashville (whew!). :-) Take care, Carmen |

Reading this thread has knocked me out of Ketosis.

One lane is blocked completely, causing commuters to have to make the transition over to the next lane and creating one hell of a slowdown. Why? There's a new Krispy Kreme that opened on South Shackleford. Last night around 9:30 I was driving to a friend's house and had to take S. Shackleford to get there. Still one lane closed, and a huge line of cars in the lane to turn into KK. Traffic monitors were even there. You know, there's NEVER a line to get into Powerhouse Gym, which is about 10 miles away. Matter of fact, the parking is just like at church...it's *great*. I've resolved never to step foot in that Krispy Kreme. Why add to the chaos? SC (formerly JBA) |

The temptation to have more evaporated out of me with a poof. It's been a few years since then and now I can walk past them and chuckle. If a donut fails to make wheat-allergic me sick, there is something severely wrong with that donut! I heard once -- I can't confirm it -- that KK donuts were made with potato flour. Maybe that's why you didn't get sick. I have no idea about Krispy Kreme. Might have been the sugar OD for all I know. But I used to go to a chain called "Spudnuts" before I started Atkins. They advertise that they use potato. I haven't set foot in a Spudnut since 1999. Now I go to Dunkin Donuts occasionally. For a coffee. |
