Default Suggestions for log keeping?

I don't know if its my mind or my body (or both) telling me that I'm going
to need to make an adjustment in my eating. I've been poking around with the
various online BMR calculators and so forth. The results they give are
wildly different from one another. Rather than try and calculate things out,
I'm thinking it would be a good idea to log my daily weight, exercise, food,
etc., so that I can a really good picture of where I'm at with everything
and then make adjustments from there.

Given all of that, I'm thinking what the hell, why not go for broke? Its
probably a good time to look at my spending patterns, sleeping patterns,
efficiency at work, yada yada.

I can see how I would put together a log in Excel or something, print out
blank logs & just keep them with me throughout the day. I'd rather not have
to re-invent the wheel if I don't have to. My googling has basically come up
blank on this. If anybody has suggestions as to where I can download a
logbook or see what others have done, I'd appreciate the help.

Tanks!

Mike

Try Fitday.

http://www.FitDay.com

I have no connection to Fitday, except as a download customer.

A lot of people here use Fitday. I've tried Fitday, both online and the
download version. However, my preference is DietPower. DietPower was a
major reason I was able to lose 80 lbs. I've maintained my weight loss
for 2 years and still use DietPower to maintain. You can download a 15-
day trial from
http://www.dietpower.com/freedown.htm.

Having given them their free plug, I have to say there is one thing that
really bugs me about DietPower. Once in a while they have been known to
spam the group. As great as DietPwer is, I'm a little reluctant to keep
promoting the software, especially since I have no financial interest in
the company. I've sent them an email complaining about this in the past,
so maybe they've stopped.

I use an excel sheet myself... carry it on my cellphone (treo) so it's
always with me.

What about a little notepad? I used to have this little notepad that I would
prepare the evening before, put titles, and lines to make it like I want it
to be for tracking. Took me about 10 minutes everynight and became an
anchor, like a reset button to keep me on track..

I know I'm weird.. but it worked for me!

If you're motivated by numbers (sounds like you are), you may find my
WeightWare (www.WeightWare.com) program useful. It's based loosely on the
"Hacker's Diet" approach (i.e., frequent weighing, with the program
performing statistical analysis of your weight records to let you know how
you're doing and keep you on track).

You can download a free, fully functional, 30-day trial version from
http://www.weightware.com/Download.htm.
