how to avoid eating before bed time?

If I go out of my range of weights (between my personal goal which is 159, and the free at ww weight of 166) where I am still free at my monthly meeting, I go to the relapse plan. I journal again, if I am not already. I usually cut out any indulgences that I have been having. I look at my storyboard that I wrote when I joined WW, my long long string of paperclips that represent the pounds lost and my graphs, including how many months it takes to lose that weight. I pay attention to how many DAYS it takes to get back in my goal range, and appreciate how few that is..... I read this newsgroup I participate with another online journaling group and share what is going on with me. As a lifestyle I always exercise 5 X a week, no excuses except illness. Even when I am not journaling I try and keep days when I overeat to one or two a week. I do not deny myself any particular food ever if I really want it, but do practice portion control. That is easier knowing that no food is off limits for me, and I can have some more the next day when I am hungry again. The National Weight Control Registry that I am a member of did a study, and people who maintain losses over time usually use the range of acceptable weights method, and go right back to losing mode if they hit the "red" zone, what they call being over goal weight. Also my goal was a reasonable one for me. I am not at the bottom of the range of normal weights for my height, closer to the top. This is perfectly acceptable to me, as I have not had any surgery to remove excess skin or anything, and I am in a nice size of clothing for my height. No one who meets me thinks I am overweight, and many express surprise when I tell them I was. Thanks for the answer. This is very sensible, and is clearly working for you. I should probably weigh myself more often. I don't have scales at home and used to do it at the gym weekly, but haven't been lately. This isn't any kind of "don't want to know" thing, but rather that I have been tending to just come home in my gym clothes after my workout rather than showering and changing -- hence no clothes-less moment. I know I haven't gained -- if anything I may be close to going below my desired range at the moment -- but it would be better to keep track. I think I'll have to get back to weekly weighing.
