Default Body Fat Percentage - Fat loss and muscle gain

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to ask you that know...How does one measure body fat? I see
folks posting on web pages and places that they have x amount of body fat or
a percentage of body fat. How do you find your body fat percentage. Also,
I think that BMI means Body Mass Index. Is this the same as body fat
percentage.

I've read places where people state they lose x amount of weight in fat
and gain x amount of muscle. How can you differentiate between the two?

Thanks in advance for the replies and sorry for my ignorance,

Paul

Here's a site that might help explain the different ways to measure your
body fat. I also know there are a couple of good sites for using the
calipers for measuring but I don't have them bookmarked. Maybe someone
else will post them.

I have Tanita scales at home I use to keep track of my body fat. I also
belong to Curves and get my BF measured there.

Hope this helps
