I 'm back :-) (looooooooong post)
Welcome back Nathalie. Glad you enjoyed your holiday and hope you are
better soon. A friend of ours is due back from Cuba tomorrow, looking forward to hearing about his holiday as well. -- Brenda 209/173/150 NYNY goal 160 "Nathalie W" wrote in message ... Well hello everyone! Here I am again, after a long absence... I 've been back from Cuba since two weeks now, but life has been quite eventful since, and I wanted to read all the posts! So, 5000 posts later, I 'm here. The trip to Cuba was fantastic. It 's a beautiful and interesting island and we really had a great time. We were very active too, hiking, exploring caves, mountain-biking (NSV! first time I did this!), salsa-dancing... We even climbed some pretty high mountains! Food-wise it was quite hard since there were hardly any vegetables or fruits. I had to give up my vegetarian lifestyle for a while and had chicken or fish every day. Otherwise it would have been rice and beans 3 times a day and I wouldn't have survived on that. Unfortunately everything they cook is fried in a lot of fat! Oh well I did what probably everyone would have done in this situation: forget about the diet but try to eat sensibly, indulging in the occasional dessert, not too mention the absolutely delicious coctails!(mojito, daiquiri, cuba libre...) Fast forward to the flight home : due to overbookings I was promoted to business class ( Yay!!) which was great for such a long flight. But... somebody was so kind to "give" me his flu virus, so after a few hours at home I was in bed, with a fever and a sore throat. I actually felt better quite fast and probably overdid it a little a week later when we had our Christmas choir concerts and I insisted to participate. Result : relapse from the flu, much worse this time, with bronchitis on top! So after 5 days in bed I 'm up for the first time today, and feeling a little better. The fever is gone and apart from a bad cough and a general feeling of weakness I 'm OK. Weightwise : I stayed the same during the trip, which I was very happy with! Then of course with this flu I lost quite some weight... I know, not the best way to lose. Anyway I 'm recording yesterday's weight since Fridays are my official WI days: 220.9 or down 4.2. Actually the scales read even 3 pounds lower today but that's not 'official'. Since I have only eaten a little soup and yoghurt for the last days, and the antibiotics are playing havoc with my intestines, I believe the weight will come back a little once I start eating normally again.) Well, I 'm glad to be back, hope you ' re all doing fine. My good thoughts go to Elaine and Brenda's hubbies, and to everyone struggling, and of course to Kate and her gallbladder :-) Congrats to all you losers and maintainers, and hello to all newbies. ( and special thanks to Kristin who sent me a mail asking if I was home already. You' re a sweetie!) -- Nathalie from Belgium 134.1/100.2/minigoal 99.9 Goal 68 Kg 295.6/220.9/minigoal 220.3/Goal 150 pounds NYNY 227.3/220.9/214 |

Welcome back Nathalie, I was wondering if you were having such a fantastic time
that you decided to extend your vacation. G Glad to hear you had a great time and are once again recovering from the flu - sorry to hear you got ill at all. And maintaining on vacation is quite an accomplishment. Good for you! Good to have you back amongst us. Joyce On Sat, 20 Dec 2003 11:31:59 +0100, "Nathalie W" wrote: Well hello everyone!
