Hello List,

I seem to have these pauses in weight loss and was curious if others are
in the same boat. It seems that I have been at 245 to 247 for a week or so
and doesn't seem to want to drop below this. I'm sure it will with time,
but it definitely stays on my mind. I'm just curious if others have the
same experience. It seems like the weight just comes off then there seems
like there is a small period of time where it doesn't seem to want to go.

Just curious if others have or are experiencing the same?

Sincerely,

Paul

Definitely. That happened to me that I was stuck for several weeks at the
same weight. Then all of a sudden I got un-stuck and the scale started
moving again. Try to stay on your program and the weight will start
coming off again before too long. Just don't get too discouraged, it's
easy to give up at times like this. Even if you're not losing at the
moment, eating well is still improving your health and you're at least
getting practice maintaining.

A week or so is no big deal. Plateaus can last even longer. Like 3
weeks... If after 3 weeks you're still not losing, something needs to
change, be it eating habits, exercise or a needed refeed. I can't tell you
how many times I've lost after a refeed.

The same things happen to me. I'll have little stalls that last about 4 or
5 days, sometimes longer, and then I'll drop 2 lbs. overnight. It's
happened that way all during my diet.

Having a plateau is a very typical side effect of losing alot of weight.
Don't give up and keep on your WOL. Eventually, you will start losing
again.

i was at 125lbs in sept and then i gained 5lbs of the 30 lbs i lost while
doing weight watchers. and now my weight is stuck 130lbs, it has been that
way since the middle of sept and hasn't moved. it's a good thing when ur
weight can do that. i used to get mad because it wouldn't move but now
because it's been going on for so long i'm used to it.
it does happen and it just means you have to change something in your
diet. like trying a new food or changing ur meal ideas all together or maybe
even upping ur exercise more. don't worry ur not the only one who goes threw
this everyone does at one point or another

I'm right there with you Paul - I lost only 0.5lb last week, but 4 the week
before. So far, in the short time I've been eating better I have had a couple
of one week stalls where my wieght has stayed the same, only to lose the
following week. One week is nothing in the big scheme of things, I continue my
WOE and try not to worry.

On the other hand, though I only lost 0.5 lb, I tried on a very old pair of
jeans last night (been in a pile in the corner of the wardrobe along with some
others for about 8 or 9 years) and they FIT! Which is good, because the pair I
have been wearing can now be taken off without even unbuttoning them.

So even though you aren't seeing weight go on the scale, changes are happening.

Stick with it

Cellach
