Default Heartfelt victory!

Just thought I'd share here...I was doing my usual cardio thing on the
treadmill, set at my usual speed and noticed my heart-rate was not getting
up to 120, where it's supposed to be. I asked the trainer about it and she
said this was a good thing-when your heart gets stronger, you need to work
harder to make it go up. It is hard to sit out the gym today (other things
claiming my time) after that bit of news! I want to get in there and run
miles and miles and look at the heart-rate monitor!!!! Just to wallow in
it! I had to sit on my butt for about 2 years, first due to a temp gig and
then taking care of a dying parent...he had tantrums every time I tried to
leave the house and later if I even left the room. The things we do for
love, hey?
Oh well, the trainer also says it's good to give your muscles a day off at
least once or twice a week.
I have also gotten into cold showers...yeah, you scream when it first hits
you, but they are quite addictive...they really do feel good and you feel
"zinging" when you get out.

Hi nck,

Good luck with your workouts. Sorry about the dying parent, I haven't had
to go through that yet and am not looking forward to it either. I can't
believe anyone likes cold showers unless it's really REALLY HOT
outside...lol.

Have a great day,

Paul

Just wait, your resting heart rate should also go down. I went from 90 down
to my current 48.

Resting days are important, but you can still take a walk or some other low
intensity activity if you get restless or just want to keep moving.
