I had to try the new dill pickle flavored Lays potato chips. I love chips
too much so I buy them very seldom. Smallest bag was 5.5 ounces. I
counted out ten for myself, handed the bag to my husband and said "I don't
want to see these again." I don't know what happened to them.

They are yummy, btw!

Pickle flavored chips? Now that doesn't even sound appetizing to me - but
then I'm not a pickle fang Give me the plain old baked Lays chips. I
have to have one of these each time I eat at Subway.

Congratulations on your successful weight loss!

BTW - have you considered registering with the National Weight Control
Registry (http://www.lifespan.org/services/bmed/wt_loss/nwcr/ )? It's a
research project that is studying successful "losers". They currently have a
database of over 3000 individuals who have lost, on average, 60 lbs or more,
and kept the weight off successfully. Their goal is to study how successful
weight loss happens, in order to provide more effective strategies in
fighting obesity.

I'm glad we're finally getting some interesting flavored mainstream chips
here! Canada's had pickle, ketchup, and "all dressed" Lays potato chips
for a long time, and lots of smaller brands (both here and there) have
fascinating kinds like clam and chicken and steak. I've bought every
weird kind I could just to try them once.

Now if only we still had chili cheese Fritos around here (guess New
England isn't the biggest chili OR Frito market)...

-Alison, not the biggest chip fan, but still intrigued by all of the
flavors

Thanks for the congrats and the link, Gary. It looks interesting.

Carol - you know anything about this? Is anyone else registered?

I know that if I hadn't given the rest to my husband, I'd have eaten them
all. Is that self control or just knowing my limitations?

That is an excellent question. There are times where I know my limitations
too and I avoid the food or have someone make sure I don't eat too much of
it. There are some times that I don't have the self control to do that and
just binge. I guess it is a combination of the two... The self control to
pass up the rest of the chips because you know your limitations?

I have a friend who lost 100 pounds and has been known to throw the rest
of a bag of chips out the car window. (just the chips - not the bag s)

Thanks for clarifying about the bag :-)

Chris (who just came back from adopt-a-highway duty, and is wondering
how some people were brought up!)
