Default people of size?

I've seen a few posters use the euphemism "people of size" here rather than
"fat people". Is that some sort of recent PC phenomenon in the U.S.?

i don't think so. most of the "fat acceptance" sites i've seen just use the
word fat. "people of size" just sounds silly.

maybe someone was making a joke?

Yes it is a PC term here. If any commercial entity, from airlines to
hotels to movie theaters to Human Resource Departments, need to refer
to fat people, they use the phrase "people of size."

That's what I've noticed.

what crap. if they were trying to be sensitive, they'd just say "people",
and not refer to their weight at all.

i've never heard anyone use "people of size" in a non joking manner. and i
live in the PC capital of the US, Seattle.

But saying "people need to book two seats" is not the same meaning as
"Extemely obese people need to book two seats".

Personally, I'd just rather be called fat. But what the hell.

As a person of size I think that is sort of silly.
