Good heavens, what next? So all these people that drink hot tea and coffee
are now going to have cancer. I think there is some stupid study that shows
about everything and anything and they all have no meaning.

I was waiting in a doctor's office yesterday and saw where a doctor in

Spain
had done a study showing that people who drink hot water are predisposing
themselves to cancer of the esophagus. His study showed that continual
drinking of hot water irritated the esophagus and in some of the study
participants this irritation led to changes in the cells of the lining of
the esophagus which turned into cancer later on.

It didn't say how hot the water had to be, just that it was hot enough to
irritate the esophagus and the people doing it were drinking more than 2-3
glasses at a time.

Yeah, but the studies are equally as stupid as the notion that drinking hot
water followed by exercise will help you lose weight. So 'stupid is as
stupid does'....or something like that....

Um, I do on occasion. When it is 30 below and I feel
chilled I heat up a cup of water and sip on it.

Weird eh?

This should apply to any hot liquid, should it not?

Bob,
I was asking you if YOU thought I was weird? Eh?
I don't think I'm weird at all.
I live so close to the Canadian border I say eh a lot. Eh?
LOL,

Hmmm...It's weird if you live in Arizona. Near the North, it might not be
weird. I've had many drinks of tea and even hot cocoa just to really get
the heat, and not necessarily for the flavor.
