Anyone ever heard of/used this diet?

I have heard of this diet and I have used the version called Neanderthin
which was written by Ray Audette.
It is a very good plan but I ate too much fruit and regained some weight I
had lost
so now I am on Atkins KISS-style.

Why didn't you just eat less fruit?

I went from being mainly vegetarian to eating a mainly Paleo diet about 2

1/2
years ago & it has improved my health,

I refuse to give up coffee or chocolate, but other than that I eat almost
nothing that requires processing.

I am also on paleo, and am wondering if I can eat cheese and
unsweetened chocolate. Any thoughts?

I think that depends on how your body handles it. I have cut my dairy back to
almost nothing because I was having digestive problems/bloating from putting
cream in my coffee, but I do not have any problems with an ounce of two of
cheese or a couple of pats of butter now and then.
We buy hand made cheeses from an old fashioned cheese shop in Connecticut & the
6 hour drive to get it prevents overconsumption

As for chocolate, I like very dark chocolate like the Lindt 85% and I only eat
1-2 squares at a time and not every day. A candy bar usually lasts me about a
month.

If you check the Paleo-list archives, you will see that chocolate is one of
those things about which there is no clear concensus.

If you like junk food, soda, etc. -- this is NOT the diet for you,
but if you are comfortable with eating mainly vegetables, fish,
meat, nuts and berries it is an easy diet to maintain.

Robyn

do you maintain your weight Robyn?

i

Yes. My weight fluctuates by about 4 pounds depending upon hormones, water,
amount of food & liquid consumed, but it has been pretty stable for about a
year now.

I was actually about 10 pounds lighter last summer, but I got tired of heating
my BF complain that I looked bony so I upped both my food and my exercise to
try to bulk up a little without gaining too much fat. According to the calipers
and a little guesswork, I think that I put on about 3 pounds of muscle and 7
pounds of "other."

Because I am highly addicted to fruit.
Eating just a little does not work for me.
It causes me to binge.

Oh, that makes sense.....

So why didn't you just cut the fruit from your Paleo and eat more veggies?
