This is where responsible parents jump in and consume the products while their
children are sleeping. Then we can all be comfortable that our children are
maintaining healthy lifestyles.

Chuckie Cheese pizza.. or however you spell it.. does that here.. they get 5
game tokens for every A.. I don't go to pizza places.. my neighbor has no
problem with them though.. she takes her kids and mine kids just to play
games.. gets their free tokens and sits there drinking a diet Coke, lol..
they leave when the kids are done and never touch any pizza.. I guess the
tokens for A's are ok if you have the willpower to leave the pizza alone,
lol.
KrispyKreme here has done the doughnut thing for awhile now.. so does
Coldstone Creamery.. they get a free kids sized ice cream scoop with one
topping free for each A..

Gargh. I knew a place that used to reward kids with a free video game
token for every A on a report card. I'm not sure if that was
better/worse/same as the sugar-reward.

I used to go to the original Coldstone in Mesa, Arizona. A new one opened
up here, and it's quite a bit different than the one in Mesa. Not to
mention that it's way, way more expensive than it used to be.

I was about to comment that with the poor education system today, they're
unlikely to get straight A's. Then I remembered how the evaluation system as

The whole obesity in schools thing is funny. I was reading the new nutritional
guidelines for this year. Apparently parents can't even bring cupcakes for
their child's birthday anymore. (last year you could, but no candy sprinkles on
top, LOL!) And if you do bring something from the "approved list" it's not my
idea of healthy. Rice cakes are allowed, as is low or non fat milk. As if I'd
ever give my kids anything but whole milk. (not allowed!) My 9 year old seems
to have more common sense than these politicians. She was upset that they
aren't allowed to run at recess (no tag, hide-and-seek, etc- BUT it was because
of level orange days, which she doesn't get, LOL!) AND that the "no cupcake"
rule was announced. She asked me why they weren't allowed cupcakes, and I told
her it was because the school was afraid some kids may get fat. Her response?
"If they're afraid we'll get fat, why don't they let us run!?"

An interesting addition to this year's rules? Fried potato products can only be
served once a week, in 3oz portions. Which would be great, but glancing at the
menu, they make up for it with wonderfully nutritious things like rice, corn,
etc.
