How did you fare over the holidays?
If you celebrated any, that is...
I managed to keep my chocolate consumption down to one hershey's kiss. It was the coconut cream pie my MIL brought over for dessert that got me. Oh, and dinner out on Friday, lunch and dinner out on Saturday, blah, blah, blah. I didn't get out and run as I had hoped because of the crappy weather and our house remodel (we finished laying an oak hardwood floor in what will be my kitchen), but I did 30 pushups and 50 body-weight squats just to prove to my teenagers that I could... Amy 168/117/... -- Check it out! http://www.tcfitnesschallenge.com/index.html The kid was with her bio-fam for the holidays and DH and I were felled by a nasty respiratory virus. I still made a ham (bone-in real one not the canned stuff) but there was only veggies as sides and though strawberries were the planned dessert, neither of us were up to it. After trimming as much fat as possible, the leftover ham was still a fair amount for sandwiches for DH the next 2 weeks (froze some). No candy. DD's basket has a stuffed bunny and some chocolate scented bath products and an iTunes card. -- the volleyballchick |

The girls got kisses and a target card--my oldest is off to Disneyworld this week to perform with her high school band/chorus, so most of our energies (and money) have been channelled into getting her ready to go. Dinner was ham, yams, broccoli salad, and "grandma's salad," a concoction of mayo, cream cheese, cream, jello, confectioners sugar, and colorful mini-marshmallows. I call it "fat salad," but it's an Easter tradition in DH's family. A spoonful won't kill you, but it might send you into sugar-shock. Oh, and my MIL's pies. mmmm. pie. How did you fare over the holidays?
I was a diet fascist. I would not participate in the family barbeque, and
came over to visit afterwards. Today, I'm half a pound lower than I was. Small day-to-day weight changes are meaningless, but it felt good to see the progress after paying a high price to keep my diet on track. If I had feasted, I would have jumped up 2 or 3 pounds, short term. "A Ross" wrote in message ... If you celebrated any, that is... Amy 168/117/... I did well. My only dinner out was a Passover meal and I can't eat matzoh, but went overboard on roasted juicy capon a rather fatty unsexed eunich of a chicken. I made a cauliflower and mushroom dish that subs for rice and it was a big hit, especially with me and very salty. My weght did not change. Diva |

How did you fare over the holidays?
"A Ross" wrote in message ... If you celebrated any, that is... We aren't big celebrators. I bought a chocolate egg (Wonka style) for DS and a chocolate Dale Jr car for DH. DH felt guilty and went out yesterday morning to get me my only easter indulgence - a single cadberry egg. That was all I wanted. As for food concuption - well, not bad there either. I did pancakes and bacon for breakfast, had two cakes and two bacon. Then we packed up the bikes and headed out to the mountain bike park for the day. I made up some *ham* sandwhiches so as we stopped to eat our lunch later in the day, I jokes about this being our easter dinner. Dinner was a home made chicken quesadilla on a wheat tortilla. All in all, it was a good day. Probably close to 1500 cals consumption paired with 1200 cals burned in biking. (did a 14 mile street ride after doing 2 hrs of mountain biking). |

I made a big pot of a fairly lean, full of veggies and beans, chili Saturday, so we've been eating on that for dinner. Weight was slightly down. Got out this morning and did a little gardening, i.e. pruned the back yard roses. Still have all the front ones to do though. But I also need to get to the gym. Tomorrow may be better for yard work, the wind is getting VERY GUSTY out! Bad things I've eaten... 3 Licorice Altoids and a couple protein bars when I was hungry out shopping yesterday. -- Cynthia 262/241/152 Your homemade things sound excellent. Protein bars can be tricky and so can Larabar which has over 200 calories. Diva |

Dang, I'd be inclined to start a different salad tradition, LOL! That salad might actually make me sick! Just the sugar from the protein bars I ate yesterday made me feel a little so-so, LOL! -- Cynthia 262/241.5/152 |
