I'm one pound down this weekend. I don't weigh between weekends, so this
will be my level for this month - I'm 1lb short. Darn. Never mind, October is another month, and my target will be 257. I am curiously noting how close I am to 250lbs, which was my weight for about five years. I get up every morning, filled with enthusiasm, and with the intention of low-carbing ALL DAY. Sometimes I make it until lunch, sometimes, it's well after dinner, but on most days, I wind up eating a bag of microwave popcorn. It's been my undoing. I meticulously avoid potatoes, bread and related products, milk, pasta, all the usual suspects. I'm not sure why I'm so drawn to popcorn lately. Because I'm in so much pain from my back injury? Am I looking for comfort? I'm not really sure. All I know is, I'm just not getting back into the swing of things like I keep planning on doing. I know it would help me a lot if I found my scale, so I'd have something, other than my flimsy conscience, to use as a motivational tool. I've been checking my blood sugar, but I can thwart that by taking Precose when I eat popcorn, so my numbers stay pretty stable. If all I wanted was controlled diabetes, I'd be doing great! But I want more (or is it less?). I've still got 50 pounds to lose, and I won't accomplish that eating popcorn!
