Grapefruit diet day 9
I'm pleased to report a four pound weight loss - my only change was to
drink 8 oz of grapefruit juice before each of 3 of my 6 daily meals - and to eat less in those 3 meals. I've gone from 161.5 to 157.5 in nine days. Tues I'm getting tested by my doc and will find out if my blood glucose level is any lower. I appear to be hungry less often - had to tell if it's a "placebo" effect or from the grapefruit juice. Time will tell. For the story about grapefruit, see http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald...ws/7763801.htm |

If I'm reading this correctly, you kept your overall calories intake at the same level and just substituted the grapefruit juice? Beverly |

Grapefruit diet day 9
Beverly,
As far I as can tell, yes. I still eat 5 - 6 meals daily, each one 400 calories. I may be less tempted to "cheat" since I'm not as hungry. The way I may have been cheating was in measuring peanut butter or almond butter - an exact tablespoon is hard to do. Of course, of my 4 lb weight loss at least half is probably water loss at this point. As far I as know, grapefruit does not either "dissolve fat" or "rev up metabolism." It's supposed to work by lowering blood glucose and insulin levels - thus it may prevent blood glucose "spikes" followed by hunger. "Beverly" wrote in message ... Just a note: It's easier to be accurate if you weigh the peanut/almond butter. If you put it on bread or a cracker or an apple or some such, just weigh that before and after adding the butter. Or weigh the spoon before and after scooping it up. Chris Thanks for the tip! :-) -- jmk in NC |

You put the PB in a measuring spoon and level it with a knife. not difficult at all. Diva |

Chris,
Thanks - I have a chemical balance scale accurate to a gram, so I can do that. No more "heaping" tablespoons! Congrats on your fabulous weight loss. Chris Braun wrote in message . ..
