Since the lockout, DH and I haven't been much into the NHL.

I don't think the NHL showed much loyalty to its fans. I had the same

No one really since we've always loved college hockey and support it
tremendously. Where I live we put them on skates as soon as they're walking so there's plenty of great hockey locally to enjoy. One of our local boys is probably going to be picked up in draft this year (predicted 6th round) and there are a few girls headed to Division 1 schools on hockey scholarships. Going to these games always makes DH and I think about adopting a kid so we can get even more involved.  Having no pro team in proximity to where we live makes it easy to ignore the NHL. I used to be a Blackhawks fan and season ticket holder when I lived in Chicago. They've gone way downhill since and it's not been worth the extra effort to keep up. The lockout just made me realize I didn't miss a thing about the NHL. The hockey thing is the equivalent to basketball.  ) in East Canada the NHL is almost a religion ) I grew up sittingbetween my grandpa and my uncle on saturday nights watching hockey night ! Only night I could stay up so late and that's only cause my grandpa would convince my mom to let me stay up with him.. I was this way for years after a strike in base ball, but I am right back
