Default Three "tough love" strategies to reset your weight

1. exercise at least one hour daily
2. eat at least 30 g of fiber daily
3. reduce the variety of foods you eat - AND CUT OUT JUNK FOOD.

Are you tough enough to reset your weight?

I need to exercise more and eat more fiber, that's for sure!

But for me, eating a good variety of foods is important. I overeat when I
get bored with food. I do have a few "staples" that I always eat, but if I
want something different, even junk food, I eat it BUT I only eat a little.
For me, that satisfies the craving. I don't say this would work for
everyone, but it does work well for me.

The important thing is to know yourself. You have to outsmart yourself.
Learn what your weaknesses are and avoid them.

For me, to not add much variety seems to be a pretty good thing! I agree
with Brad and I follow loads of his suggestions like scales every day
Love to look at my weight EVERY day. At least WHEN I'm doing well
HEHEHE!

I have upped my fiber since reading Dr. Phil. I'm on day 4 of the rapid
weight loss that lasts 14 days.

Good post Brad!

PS
I can not do a lot of excercize but I push at ALL that I CAN do. I was
beating myself up for NOT being able to exercize (like I was doing
before) but someone here remarked that a little is better than none. Tat
was either Janice or Beverly or JayJay. OR SOMEONE ELSE. It is VERY good
advice!! I'm better inthis area

The "rapid weight loss that lasts 14 days" is not in Dr. Phil's book. He'd
probably frown on trying to lose weight rapidly. Where did you get that
plan from? Not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with it. Upping your
fiber is probably a good thing regardless of where you get the idea from.
I'm glad things seem to be coming together and going down for you!

Beans and fresh fruits are high in fiber.

I believe glo is referring to the 'rapid start plan' in the food guide which
goes with the book. It's definitely not a rapid weight loss plan. It
stresses (1) eat three meals and two snacks daily (2) have a protein serving
at each of the three meals (3) eat unlimited, but at least 4, servings of
non-starchy vegetables (4) modify your intake of starchy carbohydrates to
one serving a day (5) eat two servings of fresh fruit daily-no fruit juice
(6) eat two servings of low-fat diary foods daily (7) choose from healthy
fats (8) drink 8-10 glasses water (9) eat allowable foods only from the
high-response cost, high-yield food lists in the book.

This stage is supposed to help in the transition from high-sugar, high-fat
foods to healthier foods. I would say these suggestions closely resemble
what most of us already eat.
